centrally located for the town centre with plenty of restaurants to choose from. rooms adequate although in our room there was a shortage of a mirror when using the hairdryer, we feel that one should have been above the dressing table (there was in our friends room) but as we were only staying 1 night we did not make a fuss about it.
Buffet breakfast 15 dollars but it was a very good breakfast and we felt value for money but you can also order from the grill menu and pay for things separately. Evening Hotel restaurant very pricey so we ate at the popular "The Old Fire Station" within walking distance of the hotel- you have to get there very early or book as it gets packed- all sorts of food on offer and very reasonable.

Room Tip: high room gives a good view of the city

We got at "Dakota Room" at this hotel for a night out. The room itself was strange and not at all restful with big wall size pictures of motorcycles and areas in the Black Hills. The chair was not comfortable and the colors clashed. However, I wasn't too upset about any of that, it was livable and not that bad. The bad part was that evidently nobody had cleaned the window sill from the previous occupants and there was a bunch of ring marks from glasses on it. Also, the bathroom had a sliding door with a raised sill which my husband and I both kicked a few times on accident. Otherwise we liked the room fairly well. Just be aware also that this hotel is right next to the railroad tracks, and even though only 2-3 trains come through Rapid in a day, it can be loud. The reason I give it 4 stars is that the room was, other than the sill, clean. It was quiet. The 445 Bar downstairs is awesome and has great drinks. The free breakfast was in the restaurant and was really good. It is right downtown which is great for tourists, and in fact has a gift shop attached. I like it pretty well, just would not get a Dakota room next time.

Room Tip: Ask for something on West Main Street which is the side away from the train tracks.

I am glad your stay was mostly pleasant, but I'm sorry you did not like the decor on our 8th floor. Because we are fortunate to live in one of the best motorcycle riding areas in the entire U.S. we dedicated an entire floor to our two-wheeled colleagues, with a motif inspired by our friends who travel a different road than most.

We endeavor to anticipate our guests' needs and empower our staff to accommodate the diverse tastes of our visitors whenever possible. We hope you will visit again and mention your preference for a more conventional hotel room.

We stayed here as part of a tour. Room was very contemporary. The hotel had a "hard wire internet" connection (4Mbs) in the room along with wireless connection. I do not know if a password was required for the wireless. The hotel was essentially in the center of town.

I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We feel very fortunate to be located in the heart of downtown Rapid City, where there is so much to see and do within walking distance of the hotel. We are nearing the completion of an inviting outdoor interactive area with fire pits and abundant outdoor seating. Our guest rooms have been completely renovated in the past year, and we recently completed an expansion and upgrade to our banquet and meeting facilities as part of our effort to remain current and enhance our guest experience.

This is an old Ramada that is still being renovated. The hotel is somewhat dated inside and the rooms are comfortable but not outstanding. The door into room 821 sticks and the bathroom door was hard to open. There are other minor issues with the room. The staff are FANTASTIC, especially Les who helped us recover my hard contact lens from the sink trap! The food fills your belly but can't compare to restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Construction outside the hotel was just a bit disruptive but not too bad. Overall we enjoyed our visit to the Black Hills!

We stayed here as part of a tour. The hotel has been recently renovated and is ultra contemporary with hard edges and strong graphics everywhere. There is no comfortable seating in the room--just a desk chair and two hard stools at a counter.
The staff was very helpful and friendly and the restaurant very good for dinner with an average buffet breakfast.

The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom very nice. HOWEVER, the air conditioning blows extremely strong making the room very cold when the air is blowing. Thus you are faced with a choice of setting the temp high to minimize the air coming on and being too warm or suffering with it being very cold. Of greater concern was the maintenance. During a strong thunderstorm rain began pouring through the closed window. It appears that a screen is bent and the window not properly sealed. A call to the front desk resulted in the water being mopped up but no repair to the window. The next day, a lesser thunderstorm resulted in another leak.

Stayed here two nights and it was being renovated on outside and in the lobby. The motel is clean and modern with a gift shop and restaurant. It is directly across the street from two bars which were noisy enough to wake me up twice each night. The restaurant had a good breakfast bar with many items offered.

Thank you for your review. We value all feedback in our effort to remain the city's premier downtown lodging destination. Our convenient location is a popular feature for many guests who not only appreciate our sustainable initiatives and value added complimentary services, but want to experience the heart of Rapid City firsthand.

We hope you'll be back to enjoy our outdoor fire pits and expanded guest seating areas which are part of the hotel's 2014 renovations! The transformation and expansion of our banquet and meeting facilities is complete, and the patio area will be finished soon.

Downtown awesome but I didn't want to buy the hotel I just wanted to sleep there. Overpriced but the staff was nice and breakfast good. Lots of noise and the train about knocked my choppers out being right near the hotel...live and learn I guess.

We make every effort to address guest concerns, and I apologize that your stay was less than perfect. Our close proximity to the railroad tracks is inescapable, but many who are bothered by the train whistle have benefited by requesting a room on a higher floor or on the other side of the hotel during subsequent stays.

We are a full service hotel and pride ourselves on our commitment to value added complimentary services, outstanding customer service and positive reviews.
