“Worth a visit to see the inside of this building”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

The price is right - free - and the collections inside are varied. There's an exhibit of chairs from different eras (including a scary-looking dentist's chair from the early 1900s), an old car, beautiful murals, stained glass and regional history exhibits.

“Great Wedding Reception Venue”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

We attended a wedding reception here and everything was beautifully laid out. What a great old building. The massive staircase to the second floor was very impressive.

“Unexpected Surprise”
Reviewed 15 June 2014

We stopped here on a whim to kill a little time. We were pleasantly surprised. The displays were very attractive and well-organized. The architecture of the building was beautiful.

“Great museum with Sioux Falls history”
Reviewed 25 March 2014

This was a cool free (donations accepted) museum. It was quite large. It had some old cars and other artifacts like typewriters and adding machines. There was an impressive exhibit on a winter storm that killed a lot of children on their way between home and school many years ago, which was sad but displayed well. There was nice marble steps and it used to be the courthouse and includes a library. There was a display on old clothing too. There was a lot of information about famous people who have lived in Sioux Falls over the years and there was topography stuff with lots of maps of the different counties in the area. The museum store was also nice. We found a souvenir and there were interesting toys for kids there.

“Nice restoration”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

Did a quick tour (walk through) of the museum after enjoying the Sculpture Walk. Some very interesting displays. Enjoyed the information on the uses of buffalo by the indians, the "chairs" display, and many other pieces. Worthwhile to stop by here when in the area.
