This hotel needs a facelift ASAP.
The elevator is so old and dirty. The room was so cold and I couldn't get the heat to work.
There was a used bar of soap in my shower.
I didn't have the food so I can't tell you if it was good or not.
I was so cold I don't remember if the bed was comfortable.

I chose this hotel due to it's proximity to downtown and I will say that the location did not disappoint. It's within walking distance of everything in downtown Sioux Falls and there are a lot of great restaurants and things to do there. However, the hotel came up just a bit short. It's a nice and clean hotel with friendly staff but some of the rooms had some issues. I was originally placed in an accessible room on the 2nd floor in the east wing, right next to the dumpsters. My room had a balcony and a door (that didn't seal quite tight) and the noise and light were issues. I asked to be moved to a different room and the staff quickly fulfilled my request, they seem to know that that end of the hotel can cause some noise issues for people. I was moved to the 6th and 7th floors for the remainder of my two week trip and it wasn't bad, but average. One big tip though, if you're staying in the winter, try to get a room without a balcony. The doors didn't have a great seal and it felt a little drafty at times. Otherwise, a balcony in the summer (choose the north side or west wing) would be quite nice.

Room tip: Rooms on the north side face away from downtown and away from most of the traffic. The west wing is away from the trash and delivery area as well. Avoid the south side lower floors on the east wing at all costs.

Thank you for your comments. We certainly have experienced a cold winter here in Sioux Falls and any missing weather stripping does cause an issue that we will correct. I am pleased that we were able to accommodate a room change for you and hope we can move your comments from good to great during your next stay with us.

My husband, dog and I stayed here during our recent cross-country road trip. Our room was nicely updated, spacious, clean and quiet. We were so tired from a day full of driving that we decided to eat dinner at the hotel. The chicken quesadillas from the hotel's restaurant were really good :) The room was a good value and we would certainly stay here again if we are traveling through Sioux Falls.

There is a happy hour at this hotel on the 9th floor. You'll need to pay a little extra to have access, but it's well worth it. There are snack, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and desserts. The woman who runs the happy hour is a joy! It's a really nice way to wind down for the day.

Besides that, the rooms are fairly standard for a Holiday Inn. The parking is connected, but a little ambiguous when you first pull in. The hotel itself is conveniently close to the airport and downtown.

In December I stayed here and had just begin construction I stayed on the 5th floor and I didn't even hardly notice it this time I stayed on the concierge floor on the 9th floor and at 730 in the morning I heard construction going on with jackhammer is your pounding on the walls they said there was construction but starting at 730 in the morning was a little ridiculous . The staff here is always nice and they are very helpful the rooms are clean and with the new remodel the bathrooms have them titties so you have places to put your razor the concierge floor offers a great evening reception that is second to none basically it's a beautiful dinner catered by their staff other than the construction I would have give this place a four star . The staff apologize for the construction and said that there was an error and made had gotten other complaints but they had them stop but if you're looking for a nice place to stay at least give them a try

We do apologize for the construction noise as we complete our guest room bathroom renovation. We are 90% complete and will wrap this up over the next two weeks. I am pleased that you enjoyed the 9th floor amenities, which are definitely worth the upgrade. Hope to see you back in Sioux Falls soon!
