I stayed here in in March and the hotel was fine. The rooms are a bit dated and the bathroom is ridiculously small. None of that was a big deal to me. The people working were quite friendly and the location is awesome if you want something within walking distance to bars, restaurants, etc. I am generally very pleased with the quality of Holiday Inns.

I left my swimsuit on Sunday upon checkout. I talked with housekeeping Monday morning and they confirmed they did have it but would not send it. My husband made a special trip there that Saturday to pick it up and then they claimed they did not have it. I was super annoyed. We stay in hotels alot and have left things where the hotel goes out of their way to get it to you. I won't stay again. I love to leave positive reviews for hotels but it's not going to happen with this one.

Great room on the concierge level. Clean and comfortable. Odd window/door combo out to the balcony, but it was February so I had no plan to spend time on the balcony. Breakfast and evening appetizers too!

I arrived on an evening after fresh snow. The city view out the window was glowing and lovely.
Great walkability to my appointments in downtown Sioux Falls. Free parking at the hotel - I didn't move my car for the two days/nights I spent there.

Excellent walking trail along the river, just a few blocks away. It'll take you all the way to the Falls. I went for a run and I was the only person out there in February.

This hotel needs a facelift ASAP.
The elevator is so old and dirty. The room was so cold and I couldn't get the heat to work.
There was a used bar of soap in my shower.
I didn't have the food so I can't tell you if it was good or not.
I was so cold I don't remember if the bed was comfortable.

I chose this hotel due to it's proximity to downtown and I will say that the location did not disappoint. It's within walking distance of everything in downtown Sioux Falls and there are a lot of great restaurants and things to do there. However, the hotel came up just a bit short. It's a nice and clean hotel with friendly staff but some of the rooms had some issues. I was originally placed in an accessible room on the 2nd floor in the east wing, right next to the dumpsters. My room had a balcony and a door (that didn't seal quite tight) and the noise and light were issues. I asked to be moved to a different room and the staff quickly fulfilled my request, they seem to know that that end of the hotel can cause some noise issues for people. I was moved to the 6th and 7th floors for the remainder of my two week trip and it wasn't bad, but average. One big tip though, if you're staying in the winter, try to get a room without a balcony. The doors didn't have a great seal and it felt a little drafty at times. Otherwise, a balcony in the summer (choose the north side or west wing) would be quite nice.

Room tip: Rooms on the north side face away from downtown and away from most of the traffic. The west wing is away from the trash and delivery area as well. Avoid the south side lower floors on the east wing at all costs.

Thank you for your comments. We certainly have experienced a cold winter here in Sioux Falls and any missing weather stripping does cause an issue that we will correct. I am pleased that we were able to accommodate a room change for you and hope we can move your comments from good to great during your next stay with us.

My husband, dog and I stayed here during our recent cross-country road trip. Our room was nicely updated, spacious, clean and quiet. We were so tired from a day full of driving that we decided to eat dinner at the hotel. The chicken quesadillas from the hotel's restaurant were really good :) The room was a good value and we would certainly stay here again if we are traveling through Sioux Falls.
