Wall Drug is an amazing stop on any trip, or a great destination in itself. The people who work at Wall are warm and friendly and the store(s) selection is great! There is a splash pad to let the kiddos run around and lots of good food, including 5 cent coffee. The soft-serve ice cream is the best we have ever had. Make sure to stop here and get refreshed!

Wall Drug is a great destination for travelers, whether family or just adults. It has something for everyone to delight and entertain and recharge before heading back out onto the highway. We arrived on a cold rainy May afternoon with wind chill putting the temp near freezing.

First stop was the cafeteria which features both ready to be served items featuring a daily special and quick service made to order items that are served up with fast food efficiency. We were interested in buffalo and had two burgers that came with fries on one, onion rings on the other.

We ordered lunch at the counter, grabbed two cups of coffee (still only 5 cents a cup!) and sat at a table to wait for delivery of our food. Didn't even have time to get a refill before our number was called and we returned to the counter to pick up our burgers.

Burgers were very good! So were the onion rings and fries. The coffee is also very good--hot, strong and a big carafe of cream is situated nearby. Wall Drug used free ice water initially to bring customers off the freeway. They still have it. While free is a bargain, unlimited coffee for five cents is a true bargain by any standards.

After lunch, we went touring the various stores within a store and found several items to bring home. We also filled out post cards to send home and mailed them right in the drugstore area by the cash register--right by the free Wall Drug take home signs.

Before we left, we revisited the cafeteria to buy a couple of fresh hot maple doughnuts for the road. Can't remember ever having such grease free cake doughnuts. Outstanding!! There are also chocolate and vanilla frosted--neat to see them made on premises! We spent less than $30 for lunch, coffee and dessert.

We left refreshed and relaxed, ready to continue on with our trip. Talk about a cure for what ails ya. Thanks again, Wall Drug.

I have been to Wall Drug a few times since 1960. Personally I think it gets better with age. On one side of the street is Wall Drug which includes drug store, gift shops, restaurants and other various shops. On the other side of the street in the old western town style is every other type of shop imaginable. This is not Paris, nor Fifth Avenue, NY. This is a tourist trap which costs nothing if you buy nothing but has just about every type of western shop imaginable. So if you like the old west style of things and especially if you're gift shopping or even old west decor shopping you'll love this place. Lots of shops under one roof not to mention the entire other side of the street for your enjoyment.

Traditional South Dakota with an international flavor. During the busiest season, kids are recruited from all over the world come to Wall Drug. The country they are from is next to their name on the name pin, and they bring color, accents, and enthusiasm to the Cafeteria. The food, by the way, is excellent farm country fare - homemade ice cream and pies. This is much more than a drugstore (but they do have a drugstore, if you need a prescription). The Wall family is involved in choosing the merchandise, and if you are looking for quality, they have it. There was a buffalo rug for sale on one of two trips to Wall, and the feel of it was incredibly soft and warm. Of course, it was huge, and wouldn't fit on the motorcycle! But when I was in my bedroll at the campsite in the Black Hills, all I had was the memories!

Wall Drugs is fun and relaxing change from driving in South Dakota. Lots of souvenirs, clothing, and the Restaurant is reasonably priced and pretty good for road food. This place is huge and expanding, with all kinds of merchandise at reasonable prices. A fun stop in the middle of nothing. Staff is extremely helpful and nice, plenty of parking (cars, RV's, busses).
