We went because everyone "has" to stop at Wall Drug, right? I guess it got us out of the car for a break, but wasn't fun for any of us. My son did buy overpriced rocks for gifts, but basically we couldn't wait to get out. There is no false advertising, however...it is exactly what they say it is: a mall with a bunch of independently run "junk stores". I'm sure some people love it, but it just wasn't our thing.

Thank you for stopping at Wall Drug! We are glad you at least came in to check it out. None of our stores are ran independently, and every shop you saw is all managed, owned, and operated by Wall Drug. We have unique stores, including but not limited to specific stores for books, jewelry, Western wear, boots, homemade fudge and candy, toys, pottery, and posters. The unique history behind Wall Drug and the memorabilia all around the establishment also makes it a one of a kind experience for travelers. Once again, thanks for stopping and for taking time to give us a review.

The town of Wall, SD is about 6 blocks long, and Wall Drug is 4 of those blocks. It IS huge, but as you walk thru it you notice the same things you saw in a different section repeated over and over. There is a café, a donut station, and more cash registers than townsfolk inside this place. If you enter the Badlands at the 131 exit and traverse thru it on Rte 240, you will come out at Wall Drug - so the convenience to stop for a stretch/drink/restroom is there. Just don't go out of your way to get there, you will feel duped. Parking is usually a problem as the main drag that goes around Wall Drug is crowded all the time.

They do have the free ice water and the five cent coffee, and about a gajillion other things for sale here. There is enough to keep the family busy here for a couple of hours. Try the pecan roll at the bakery, they are huge and yummy too. Definitely worth the stop here in the middle of nowhere.

After touring the Badlands from east to west, Wall Drugs was a great place to cool down. Look for gifts and of coarse drink a lot of ice water. We spend the night so we could go back later after the crowds had left. Only thing the crowds don't leave till they close. Great sticky buns and they really go well with the 5 cent coffee. A fun town to visit, nice folks every where you go. Lot of shopping all over. Check out the hotel at the end of the street. It will be in another review.

This was a very crowded tourist trap. The food was expensive and not the best. I have to say that I'm glad we stopped just to say we did but other than that, I see no reason to do it twice.

We are genuinely disappointed to hear that Wall Drug didn’t provide you with an enjoyable experience. We strive to make each plate of our famous, homemade food consistently delicious, and are sorry that this was not the case with yours. We do get about 20,000 tourists coming through a day in the summer, so things can get a bit crowded on our busiest days. Thank you so much for stopping and for taking the time to review our establishment.
