When you overnight at the metropolis that is Wall, SD, there aren’t a lot of lodging options at your disposal. Here’s where TA can help you out. The Frontier Cabins Motel is a little enclave, just off the highway, with 33 individual log cabins. There have 4 different sizes to suit any requirement. I don’t know when this establishment was setup but the cabins appeared fairly new. Everything was clean and worked properly. We stayed in Number 18 and the porch faced west, allowing us to take in the sunset. They provide 1 bag of ice/day, which is useful if you’re trying to keep some beverages/vittles cold in the car as you drive around the badlands. There is also a commercial ice machine available. Breakfast is included and it’s slightly better than your standard continental at the Days Inn. All-in-all it was fine. I don’t know if we’ll ever spend the night in Wall again but if we do, I’ll stay at the Frontier Cabins Motel again.
