Welsh's is not untypical of many independently owned/operated hotels across the great west. You need to make your reservation by phone, there is no wi-fi, and the rooms are clean, but in need of a major league "refreshing". The Welsh is convenient across the parking lot for the Wall Livery so you can get drinks, snacks, and if you wish you can wash the grime off your scoot in the spray-n-wash before touring the Badlands. We stay here every time we are in wall because we don't need a pool, and we don't want to lose our family owned, american run small hotels.

Nice owner('s daughter). The room smelled a little stale at first, but we left the window open for a few and it was fine. Besides, it was at the end of what's obviously a very slow season. Our shower head was broken, but she hadn't known about that. Good sized rooms, nice tvs, comfortable beds. Recommended!

Very nice property. Clean room. They are on the small side may not be best for large families unless they have double rooms, not sure. Has the historic feel of a 1950-60 hotel with the neon sign. Was more than we expected and for the price of our room, location of motel it can not be beat.

We liked the pictures of this motel and were not disappointed at all when we got there! The roooms were clean and cozy. The decor was a step back in time but very well maintained! Close to great places to eat and to famous Wall Drug. And very reasonably priced. We loved it!

This was the only hotel open in Wall when I arrived that had a vacancy. I would not stay there again.
The service was very good. Everyone with whom I interacted was friendly & helpful.
The room was just ok.
It was terribly hot-82 degrees-with no A/C. As a woman alone, I'm not comfortable leaving motel windows open, but I had to.
There was a funny odor in the room as well. It could have been heat-related.
The bathroom linoleum was sticky; not in an unclean way, but in a How hot can this room get? way.
The bed was too soft for me. The mattress felt lumpy.
I wish there had been a room in a chain hotel.

As advertised "No Costly Franchise, locally owned". Desk clerk was very friendly and accommodating. No breakfast but we wanted to go to Wall Drug for the 5 cent coffee and free water anyway. This is an older motel, but is quite, clean, and in a good location right off the interstate, near restaurants, gas stations, and a couple blocks from the famous "Wall Drug". The beds were comfortable & the rooms were clean.

A good hotel in the Badlands area. The owner is very helpful. The staff nice. I forgot my cell phone and came back, it was already taken care of by the stall. No breakfast, but it was worth it going to the Wall Drug, a fantastic attraction.
