This is a small museum that tastefully tells the story of a tragic and horrific event in American History. Take an hour of your day in Wall, South Dakota to go through the Wounded Knee Museum.

We stopped in to see the museum for the first time and it was educational. Before we went into the museum the had hoop dancers and some other performers and it was wonderful after you could walk around and look at the benders working on their items and watch them make some beautiful dream catchers and bead work. Then we went into the museum and watched a video on wounded knee learned a lot. I think everyone should stop and see the native American culture.

They put on a very good performance that was extremely enjoyably. Really thought this was the best thing to see in the town of Wall.

This small museum is excellent. Many years ago I read "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" and "Black Elk Speaks". "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" was a tough read, as I had to put it aside often because my emotions were getting the best of me. Reading the displays in this museum and watching the short film brought some of those feelings back. I hope we have learned from this horrible episode. We owe much to our Native Americans. An excellent museum, and definitely made the trip to Wall, SD worthwhile.

The museum had been located elsewhere, but I believe there was a fire. It is now located in downtown Wall, just across the street from the post office and Wall Drug.
