“Nice property. Great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 June 2014

To be honest I have been hesitant to stay at Best Western. My preconception has been that they are not at nice as other chains such as Marriott and Holiday Inn... however on our family vacation I found the "Big Chains" are not nearly as common or available as in the Midwest. MUCH TO MY SURPRISE.... all 3 Best Western's, including this one have exceeded my expectations. I have to say these experiences have changed my attitude toward BW. This was an older, but well cared for hotel. VERY CLEAN AND NICE ROOM. Rollway was already in our room as we had requested (no other hotel out of 8 so far has done that- Thank you!) Nice pool for the kids. Excellent breakfast. Awesome location for Badlands and of course Wall Drug! Badlands are a must see on your trip to the West! I would stay here again anytime!

The hotel harkens back the a high end late 1960s type accommodation with some upgrades, where all the doors of each room face the parking area. The walls were a little thin and with the foot traffic constant past our door, which was a little noisy. The room fan worked great, however, which helped provide that white noise to help drown out the noise. The service was great, the room was small but clean and the king size bed was comfortable. The wifi was fast and had no problems. I loved the soft natural water which is typical for this area. They had a breakfast available with an adequate sized seating area and clean, but I didn't take advantage of breakfast except for the coffee, which was pretty good. The price was a little high compared to other Best Westerns we've stayed in, but you know what they say . . . location, location. Wall Drug is a big draw and well as a good jumping off point to the Badlands National Park. I would recommend this hotel to others.

Like everything else in this run-down tourist hell, this hotel demonstrated the collective apathetic culture of the community. What a dump. Reserved weeks in advance to get ground floor handicap room, and they summarily stuck me in a second floor room anyway. No handicap parking on premis. Was lucky to get a parking space at all. Place is a dump. No amenities. No laundry. No food. Not even morning coffee and donuts. They let a gang of construction workers party in their tiny lot most of the night. None of us slept even though we were exhausted. They clearly dont care.
Typical of Best Westerns in tourist towns its clear that the chain never audits or enforces standards. Shame. Could be a gold mine or diamond in this (very) rough.
Keep driving and stay in Rapid City.

Room Tip: Go to the next town.

This hotel has an indoor pool as well as an outdoor pool, while other properties in Wall just have an outdoor pool. This is really the only reason to choose the Best Western over its less expensive counterparts. Nothing else about the property makes it stand out - you will get roughly the same quality room, breakfast, etc. as you would at its less expensive rivals.

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, furnishings included a recliner and desk. Staff were friendly and helpful. The price was fair for a town that is basically the only stop for miles along I90. What surprised me is that in the morning hotel staff had placed clean towels on each motorcycle. It had rained heavily during the night so the towel was appreciated very much. A businesses that goes to that effort to serve its motorcycle guests deserves to be supported.

Typical roadside motel. My husband asked for two queen beds, we got two doubles. The walls are thin, but the room was clean. It is situated right off of I90 in Wall, so a good location since you can drive for miles with nothing available. They have an outside pool and they offer a free breakfast.

Pretty expensive for Wall South Dakota! For Goodness sake, over $115 for this town! Wall Drug is NOT an attraction. This is NOT a town you can spend more than an hour in. We stayed here strictly as an en-route stop. If I did not have enough Best Western Gold Crown points to cover the cost I would never have stayed here. Look around, there are better deals in Wall or elsewhere in the area.

I am so sorry that you feel that way about Wall. We have many tourists come through here during the summer to spend at least 2 days just checking out the area. It is a great get away for some but I guess it just wasn't what you were looking for and I am so sorry for that. We appreciate all your comments and will pass them on to those who can help us resoive any issues possible.

Thank you for staying Best Western.
