The Brentwood B&B
Ranked #1 of 2 Brentwood B&B and Inns
Reviewed 22 August 2007

We chose The Brentwood for our Nashville stay based on the website, the fact that they are listed in Select Registry, and that they offered a Franklin, TN Civil War package. We were sent an autographed book about the Civil War to read prior to our trip and the B & B arranged a guided walking tour of Franklin, and a tour of Carton Plantation. Battle of Franklin buffs, this was great!

The B & B was wonderful. It was hotter than hot while we were in TN so returning daily to an air conditioned inn was great. The owners, Ly Anne and Dick were warm, friendly, and oh so helpful in planning our stay. We only had a couple of days and wanted to see everything in and around Nashville. With Ly Anne's help we did it all!

Accomodations were perfect. Rooms are spacious, clean, and no detail was overlooked. We appreciated the snacks, bottles of water, fresh baked cookies, and cold sodas. The breakfasts were huge and delicious. We were happily stuffed each morning.

Brentwood has good restaurants nearby and is in a very upscale part of town. A stay at the Brentwood Bed and Breakfast is a must.

My mother-in-law and I chose the Brentwood for our short trip to see the Civil War sites in nearby Franklin. We booked the Belle Meade room as it has twin beds. The property is well cared-for and the room was very attractive and very clean, as was the entire inn. The morning breakfasts (we were there 2 mornings) were delicious. The problem we had was with the temperature of our room and an equipment malfunction. When we arrived it was sunny and in the mid 70's. Our room was VERY warm. After being instructed how to operate the remote contol ceiling fan, we turned the fan on and opened the screened windows. The fan did not go fast and there was no cross-ventilation, so the room stayed warm all night. The next afternoon when we returned we were told by the innkeeper that our fan had a short which was discovered by the cleaning person and that we should not turn on the light or the fan. He said that an electrician was coming to fix it. We told him that the room was very warm and that we needed the fan to work. He said to open the windows (it was raining with wind gusts to 35 mph). When we told him we had the night before and it was still too warm, he had no response. We also stated that we were afraid we might forget and flip the switch and we didn't want to cause a fire or get electrocuted. Again we were told the electrician was coming (it was already 5pm). We returned from dinner to find a lone light bulb hanging where the fan used to be and the window was cracked. 4 of the other 5 rooms in the inn were unoccupied, but we were not asked if we would like to change rooms. The innkeepers did not make us feel special or even very welcome.

What a find on the Internet. We spent 4 nights in 'The Franklin Suite' and our hosts LyAnne & Dick Thorman made us feel so welcome. We must thank LyAnne for the wonderful breakfasts, with such a variety and first class presentation. We hired a car which meant the drive to Nashville, which took approx 25 minutes, was not a problem as LyAnne & Dick were always on hand to give directions. If you ever go to Nashville, please stay at 'The Brentwood'. We promise, you will not be disappointed.

This Bed and Breakfast was a wonderful place to stay for a weekend getaway. Although it was a little bit out of the way from the Nashville attractions, the rooms and service were terrific. More than that, the owners and staff could not have been nicer. They even called me when an opening for a different room that they thought I might like became available. Breakfast is delicious and you feel as if you are eating at a close friends house vs. a hotel. I highly recommend The Brentwood and would visit again.

We had a GREAT time at the Brentwood B&B! The inn is very spacious in the downstairs common areas, and the rooms are well insulate, even though it was a "full house", we could not hear anyone else in their rooms.

We stayed in the "Nashville" room, which is one of the smaller rooms available, but it was spacious, plenty of room to walk around the bed. The bed itself was wonderful, extra thick mattress pad and beautiful linens.

I agree with the previous poster about hearing the birds, which I like. The setting is almost rural, but you are close to lots of shopping and restaurants (best of both worlds).

The owners have taken great care and pride in developing this Inn, I would stay there again!
