Description: Jim and Jerry Chandler opened the first Sportsman's Grille restaurant in 1985 with ten items on the menu. They wanted to recreate a northern hunting lodge atmosphere with fresh, hand-packed burgers, chili, catfish and cold beer. The business and menu have since expanded with the purchase of the Gerst Haus (German-American restaurant) in 1988, opening of Sportsman's Grille in the Village in 1991 and opening of Sportsman's Lodge in 2000. Jim and Jerry's wives, children and sons-in law are now involved in the businesses, which also include Melrose Billiards (opened in 1969) and three restaurants in Evansville, Indiana. The family's passion for good food, comfortable atmosphere and family gatherings inspire them to provide a great all-around experience. The service is friendly and all food is prepared with the freshest, natural ingredients from family recipes.

“So great!”
Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

Just can't believe some of the negative reviews about this place! What a wonderful, hidden, gem! If you are thinking about dining anywhere near the Cool Springs Galleria in Franklin, TN, consider this: great service, huge menu, daily specials, good wines, reasonable prices and possibly the best prime rib ever. They only serve it on Friday and Saturday and have a limited amount. Decor is old west lodge and there are at least 7 screens for sports viewing. But back to food and service: delicious, well-presented, well-priced, all good. Great for just two or twenty. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Bring a big appetite.

“Outstanding burger”
Reviewed 12 May 2014 via mobile

I and a customer went to Sportsman's Grill on a weeknight, there was plenty of available tables and the service was prompt and pleasant. It is a uniquely furnished restaurant with a broad menu; I recommend the burgers, the one I had was excellent.

“Best Cheeseburger”
Reviewed 25 March 2014 credit card Amex Cardmember Review

They have the best cheeseburger in the country. It is a half pound prime beef with lettuce, tomatoes, fried onions, or anything else you want on the burger. You get to pick the cheese, and it comes with french fries. The price is $10.00 and well worth it.

“Went to great lengths to present Western Atmosphere”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

Great American food and bar by very experienced operators is served by exceptional servers. Extensive menu. I have never taken someone there and had them disappointed. Interior is authentic Lodge Pole Pine and some of the largest I have seen. Two wood burning fireplaces and huge seating area. At least 10 flat screens.
