Went on July 4th weekend. Very busy, I believe one of their busiest of the year. Wait time was over 1 hour to get in. The falls are underground. No strollers allowed but parking for them available. Once down below, there is one path in and one path out. Therefore, many incoming tours have to wait for outgoing tours to leave. I felt rushed to move past the natural rock formations in order to get to the falls. This was likely due to the crowds. On a less busy time, I imagine having more time to walk, stop and see all leading to the falls. Falls were breathtaking. However, it is not something to wait 1+ hours for. There is a restaurant and playground for kids after the tour is over, but we were ready to go by then. There is also a separate zipline course. While I recommend going to see the Falls once in your lifetime, do not do so on a holiday or busy time. It can wait.

The waterfall at the end is very nice. However, I don't think the whole attraction was worth the price. You are herded through the half mile to the falls with a guide who points out formations that look like familiar animals, angel wings, etc. If you have been in a large cave the trip through is not really all that spectacular and it is crowded. You have to stand to the side while those exiting clamber past. And they tell you not to touch formations as you look at walls that have been blasted out and stalactites that have been cut to allow passage. Then you get to the falls which is lit for maximum effect and you are allowed about 5 minutes before the lights go out and you have to parade back through the caverns to the exit.

Our tour guide Andy was great! He kept us laughing the whole tour and made the experience! The falls were beautiful and the walk in the cave had very cool formations to observe.

We loved Ruby Falls! The line to get in was super-long -- a couple of hours (it was 7/4) -- and I refuse to wait that long for anything... but we were lucky enough to find "the shortcut" -- and we were in within minutes! You elevator down into the cavern, then walk about 2/5 of a mile to the Ruby Falls -- then back. I don't want to spoil any of the experience, other than to tell you it is very exciting -- we've been to many caverns that are overly commercialized, but this one is still "raw" -- a lot of jagged edges, narrow spaces, etc., make it more of an adventure than most. And of course, the falls itself is absolutely breathtaking! On the way out they make you pass through the gift shop, where there's a great view of Chattanooga and the Smokies and Blue Ridge Mountains way off in the distance. There's also a playground for the kids and a snack bar with over-priced snack bar food and soda. It's definitely an experience that's worth the price.

Sierra was our guide and she was AMAZING and super knowledgeable. If you go and get her it will be a treat. We waited in line a while but it was totally worth it.
