Overall, the facility is mostly clean and a good value. Very near downtown attractions like the aquarium and restaurants. Also it's just a short drive from Lookout Mtn, Ruby Falls, and Rock City. On the downside, the rooms are extremely small, outdated televisions with limited stations available, and the location can be tricky to get to. Free WiFi comes in great. On the "ICK" factor, there were numerous stains on the carpets both in the common areas and in the room we stayed in. Since this hotel allows pets, I don't know if these are from spilled drinks, food, or pets. No matter what the source, the large number of stains should be taken care of immediately. It's gross. With that being said, there was no smell associated with the stains, and based on what I paid, I still think the value was good.

We stayed 2 nights & would have stayed 3 if they hadn't gotten fully booked before we decided to stay again. They are still doing some updates but the rooms are in good shape, except for some tears in the carpet around the door frame, and older, tube TV. The bed was a little firm, but comfortable, with plenty of fluffy pillows. We've noticed LQ is using duvets now, like Hampton Inns have been for years, which is an added nicety. There is no counter in the accessible room's bathroom, and the shower seat is rickety, but the roll in shower is spacious and all tiled. Breakfast was REALLY nice, eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, waffles, plus plenty of other breads and pastries. Coffee is available 24/7 as is iced lemon-water in the lobby. The staff is the epitome of southern hospitality. Call them directly for the best rate.

My family and I stayed at this hotel on July 30, 2011. We got into town late at night, so didn't see the grafitti all around the area..that would've been the first indication of the bad location. Anyway, we walked into lobby, which was understaffed. One of two elevators was broken, the "working" elevator had no A/C-it was stifling in it--and was very slow. But the worse was yet to come. We walked into our room and were assaulted by stench of smelly socks, sweaty feet, and stained carpet. It was awful; I tried to change rooms, but was told no other rooms were available, so we were forced to stay there for one night. Also noticed the door knob on our door was loose, but this appeared to be the rule rather than the exception, as two of our neighbors also had a very loose door knobs. Other problems were our AC unit was old and noisy, limited handicapped parking, & very small breakfast room for # of rooms. As expected, we checked out ASAP the next day.

This has to be the worst experience ever. The pictures of the hotel were not taken recently, very deceiving. First of all the neighborhood is very scary, they said there was security, but they didn't even close the 24 hour hotel key front door (still open at 11:30 p.m.). We were greeted with an unleashed pitbull that followed our whole group in. They obviously were smoking rooms at one time because several of the rooms smelled like it. I killed a roach on my way out the door of my room. There is a positive, some of the staff are very friendly.

In my opinion, this hotel doesn't deserve the lower ratings. We had a very pleasant two night stay 8/26-8/28. The room was exceptionally clean and already cooled when we got there--that was even asking for an upper level room when we'd initially been put into a lower level room after booking the room. It was great customer service we received from the front desk. The bathroom is a bit small but was still very clean. The beds were super comfortable. The breakfast was great which had biscuits, sausage, gravy, waffles, cereal, pastries, yogurt, and breads. The only problem I had at all with the entire stay was the attendant of the breakfast area. There was only one container of syrup available for the waffles and it was empty. She'd walked out several times and as obvious as it was to me sitting across the room, there was no way she could've avoided seeing it empty. When asked if she would refill it, she continued with wiping off the breakfast area, huffed and then went to refill it. This hotel is pet-friendly so if you're not an animal person, you may want to search elsewhere but had I not seen guests with their dogs, I'd have had no idea they were pet-friendly--no smells, no "markings" left behind, nothing. Exceptionally clean!

We came down for four nights to move our son to his apartment for college. The pictures and description related that this hotel had some pretty recent upgrades. The pictures looked great but what we found was peeling paint, dirty carpet, hair in my bed, very cheap shampoo and soap, and shady people hanging around the premises all day. The breakfast consisted of a badly made eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, stale bagels and soggy muffins. The coffee was the only thing that I semi enjoyed.

The pool was unheated and cold and there were alot of dogs which I didn't know before hand that they were allowed. The beds were also very hard and the pillows flat.

We purchased this for $55 a night plus tax via priceline. The front desk clerk told people on the phone that the cost was $94 a night plus tax. I wouldn't pay more than what I did per night period. I was not pleased at all with this establishment.
