“A great walk with a purpose”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 May 2014

This bridge is closed off to gas engines. People walk, run, walk their dogs and ride bicycles. The Police can often be seen on a Segway as well, although we felt comfortable, it is nice to know they are around. It leads to a well kept, less traveled part of the city that many tourist miss. Museums, art, parks and a great little German Style Tavern called the Brewhause.

Leave the rush of the normal tourist activities behind...park your car & walk at your own pace across the bridge while you enjoy the beautiful scenery surrounding the Tennessee River.

“Love the pedestrian bridge!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014

Chattanooga has done a wonderful job of utilizing its river front and converting this to a pedestrian bridge enables walkers to get back and forth from downtown to the funky North Shore with ease. Great job, Chattanooga!

“I didn't believe it.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

I really couldn't understand why a bridge was the number one "thing to do" on TripAdvisor. My family visited Chattanooga, getting in around 8 p.m. We didn't really want to do anything that cost money so we went to the bridge. We ended up going back to the bridge every day. It has two beautiful parks at one side. Plenty of people were out and there was a nice police presence. We heard musicians, Prom pictures were being taken by plenty of girls, people were walking their dogs, and the crowd was being courteous. On the other side, there is everything! We went to the Ice Cream Shop, walked on the glass walkway over the Interstate, and went below the bridge to see art, fountains, and musicians. It was really just a pleasant place to be at.

“Nice night time walk with the family!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014

Such an enjoyable walk on the bridge at night time. My 4-year-old enjoyed running ahead of us, and it was nice to let him run ahead of us knowing no cars would be able to hit him (beware of bikes though!). The sun was setting so the view was pretty amazing to capture. Parking was only $1 for us (up to 2 hours). Definitely will be going back to visit on our next trip to Chattanooga.

The best part - it's free!
