“Great walk for the family!”

This was a favorite for us! A great walk across the bridge to Coolidge Park. Great views. We had no problem with this being a "bad area" as a previous review stated. Both ends of the bridge were completely safe! I would be cautious very late at night, maybe? There are restaurants & a few food vendors set up on each side of the bridge.

“Must See for Locals and Tourists Alike”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 July 2014

There's nothing better than being able to cross the river without worrying about cars speeding past you at warp speed. The bridge is picturesque, has great views of the river, the Bluff View Art District, North Shore, and the rest of the city. It's perfect if you want to park downtown and walk to the North Shore where parking is extremely scarce. The bridge also features benches if you want to slow down and take in the scenery. Be sure to check out the great dane statue on the south side of the bridge!

Just remember to mind your walking and cycling manners:
-Walkers should opt for the raised sides if the bridge isn't crowded to allow cyclists use of the main thoroughfare.
-Cyclists should remember to use bells or simply an "on your left/right" to politely alert walkers of your presence.
-Parents should not let their children run amok on the bridge, causing danger to themselves and the many cyclists. The bridge not a playground.

“Great Views”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

The bridge offers great views of Chattanooga and the riverfront. We even saw a couple getting married. You will have to watch out for kids on bikes. They will run over you. In the Summer, go early or late because it will be hot with no shade.

“Hey! Is It Just A Bridge?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

What can you say about one of the largest walking bridge in the world? I can remember driving over the same bridge a "couple of dozen" years ago. It is wonderful. A meeting place. Somewhere to dream. Somewhere to play. Somewhere to have lunch and just chill. Somewhere to just do nothing. Everyone must walk the Walnut Bridge at lease once.
