“An elegant and friendly small hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 December 2009

I had occasion to stay at the StoneFort Inn in Chattanooga over the 2009 Thanksgiving holiday weekend, staying in a third-floor Queen Suite. The Inn certainly lived up to its billing as a luxury boutique hotel, and I am so pleased I happened upon its web site when making my plans for Chattanooga. Edie McGee and her hospitable and considerate staff made the Inn a perfect place to come “home” to at the end of the day. My room was comfortable, and the furnishings made for an exceptionally pleasant setting. The gourmet breakfasts in the sunny breakfast room were exquisite; the common areas a delight to relax in. For the frequent traveler searching for something beyond the usual cookie-cutter downtown hotel, there can be no finer place in Chattanooga than the Stone Fort Inn.

Staying at the Stonefort Inn is a unique and wonderful experience. The hotel has all the charm of a old world hotel coupled with exceptional service. The rooms are well appointed and tastefully decorated. We loved the jacuzzi tub! The owners are so accommodating and the rest of the staff is warm and caring. Food was excellent. Overall it was a lovely stay and so very different from most other hotels that are so impersonal and ordinary.

My husband and I, and another couple, arrived at the StoneFort Hotel on a Sunday afternoon in the midst of a September downpour. The weather didn't improve during our overnight stay in Chattanooga, but the hospitality of the staff and the ambiance of the hotel more than made up for it. We stayed in attractive, comfortable rooms connected by a cozy sitting room/parlor, and because the hotel wasn't full that evening, we were allowed to look into some of the unoccupied rooms. As we were doing so, a mother and daughter who were looking for a hotel to accommodate a wedding party were being escorted through the hotel, and we thought what a perfect spot it would be for an event such as that. In the morning before our departure we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast downstairs, just off the lobby. If we're ever in Chattanooga we will definitely return to the StoneFort. It's a gem!"

We'd heard good things about StoneFort Inn B&B from others and tripadvisor reviews but were disappointed at the reality. The staff was friendly and helpful but the Inn itself looked somewhat rough around the edges. Things like the paint needing a touch up and floors with dust bunnies is unappealing. We've stayed at 3 B&B's this month. This one just didn't measure up.

The rooms were terrific. Each room had a separate sitting area that was really nice. It really felt like a home environment, not a hotel environment. The service was great, and the breakfast was amazing.

We celebrated our anniversary (two months late) with a trip to Chattanooga. The Stonefort Inn was everything we had hoped it would be; beautifully decorated, comfortably furnished. Just like home, only I didn't have to do the cleaning.
The staff was great, they really made us feel at home. If we needed anything they were ready to take care of us. We would definitely stay at the Stonefort again.

We loved this Inn! Full of history, a great staff, really good breakfast and great location. Our room was a queen w/balcony. The balcony had a 2 person hot tub on it and was very private. The room as well as the entire Inn is tastefully decorated and fully restored. I wish we could have stayed longer! Free Choc Chip cookies in the afternoon and check out each room if they are open. They are all different and unique!!
