“Decent food, but more known as a bar for hanging out”
Reviewed 13 November 2012

Although the name implies it is mainly a restaurant (with a bar), it's really more like a bar with a restaurant. Not that the food is bad, it's just that it's pretty typical fare. It might very well have the best possible location for a restaurant in Chattanooga, but I think they know that and don't try as hard as they could. It just doesn't have anything to make it stand out. Okay, alright, average are the words I'd use to describe it. But at night it does become one of the more popular spots to hang out. The crowd tends to be late 20s- 30s, and kinda yuppyish, but it's a nice laid-back place that becomes a nearly open-air bar on nice evenings when they "roll up" the wall that faces the street.

“Great place to relax”
Reviewed 16 October 2012

We try to make it to the Northshore Grill during every stay in Chattanooga. The waitstaff are all knowledgable and smiling; the make-it-yourself Bloody Mary bar is a smashing success. Parkling can be difficult, as it is in most of Chattanooga. There's a parking garage 2 blocks away. Great place to watch a game; a bit loud but that's part of the ambiance. The terrific food makes up for the noise. Try the bacon cheeseburger. Awesome.

“Very nice experience”
Reviewed 3 October 2012

This was not our original intent. We wanted to go to Urbanspoon further down Frazier, but the wait was too long and after a lot of walking: Chickamauga, Lookout Mountain and Ruby Falls, we were all very hungry. The fare is pretty much typical American food items. The nachos were good, but cannot say great. However, there was a big pile of them. The burgers were nice sized and the fries were the homemade kind, so they were good. My wife and I had salad with steak strips. This was a very good salad and would have it again. The waiter was a very knowledgeable young man as to the items on the menu and was a very good waiter on service.
It is also a bar, so we all had very cold beer to go with our food. Yes, we would go again.

“Good Place to Hang”
Reviewed 26 September 2012

Northshore Grille was just across the bridge from the main part of downtown but really close to the Delta Queen where we stayed. This made it a good place to have drinks, watch a ball game, and grab a bite. The drinks were good and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was great b/c it was an awesome weekend weather wise (mid september) so they had the large garage doors open up to the street outside making it nice to just sit and people watch while throwing back a few and watching football if you are into that. If a smoker, you will love it b/c you can smoke in and around the bar area I am assuming b/c of this almost "outdoor" type atmosphere. The bartenders were great and very attentive. The only issue I had was with the food. It wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't what some of the other reviews I have read say as far as being great. We may have ordered the wrong items (chicken ravioli w/ cream sauce & ginger shrimp app) but again it was okay. My shrimp was better than the pasta. To sum it up, worth a stop in if you are over around the park side of downtown Chattanooga. Also, just FYI, it was a very hoppin, loud environment on Saturday night.

“Pretty good food, but NOISY...”
Reviewed 24 September 2012

The food was pretty good, menu had some imagination, service was pretty good. But, boy, if you want to have a conversation with someone, try someplace else. Parking was challenging. I would go here again, but only in off-peak times.
