Owner description: Imagine a zoo that's specially designed to bring the animals up close to you. Imagine a zoo where you have time to notice the subtleties of animal behavior, instead of being pushed along by an impatient crowd. Imagine an exciting and diverse zoo that's still easy to navigate with strollers...or little legs. That's the new Chattanooga Zoo!

The zoo has really grown in the last few years. The animal enclosures are nice and clean. The new desert enclosure is awesome. Sometimes it is hard to see the cougars inside their enclosure. My daughters favorite thing to do is feed the goats! The carousel ride costs only $1.00, so it's great for children to ride. They have added a small train ride around the zoo as well. This is a small zoo, but growing more and more each year.

This was a wonderful surprise during our weekend getaway to Chattanooga. The zoo although smaller in size, had beautiful grounds and a diverse selection of animals - a number of which we had not seen at the many other zoos we have visited. It was great to experience a zoo without crowds and having the time to spend enjoying favorite animals without being in someone elses way. Our children ages 5-15 all enjoyed their experience at this zoo. Expect it take around 3 hours with children to get through without riding the camels or train.

We love coming to this little place and they have really done a lot of work and continue to keep doing more things. They are currently working on an outside place for the Komodo dragon which when finished will be great. It is awesome to see the animals up close and I watched them getting fed so I know they are WELL cared for... the peacocks are awesome to watch strutting around with all their glory. Love this Place!

This is a small zoo. This was no surprise to us, as we did some research before we went there. Some people are unhappy about this but they do not claim to be a large zoo. We loved the animal exhibits. They are having a campaign to add giraffes and I hope they get to have them. We loved the chimps and monkeys. All of the big cats were lot of fun. This is a good attraction for about two hours. The only thing I recommend is to avoid the zoo snack stand. The service was pretty bad and very slow. They were having free ice cream for Memorial Day and they ran out midday, which I am sure made for some disappointed kids. This is a nice small attraction in Chattanooga. Admission for our family of four was about $30, which seemed reasonable given the size of the attraction.

It's a little zoo, but it's a great place for young kids. It takes about one to 2 hours (depends on how long your little ones like to stay each animal exhibition) to finish the place. There are many animals, some very common ones and some you can only see in the big zoo. The price is not too bad and you can find coupons for free kid admission in those tourist websites. I highly recommend it!!
