“Wonderful place to stay”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

This was our second visit to Bluff View Inn, and this visit was as wonderful as the first. Kelly and Janet are friendly, hospitable, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. We were in the Bryan Room this time (and the Gentry Room last visit). We loved the Bryan Room; it's spacious, comfortable, has lots of light, and views of the Tennessee River on two sides. The smaller Gentry Room has a spectacular view of the Tennessee River. The Tennessee Aquarium, Market Street Bridge, and Hunter Museum are within walking distance. We will visit again.

Room Tip: The views of the river from the Bryan and Gentry Rooms are wonderful.

My husband and I enjoyed our 3 night anniversary trip to the Bluff View Inn. We stayed in the CG Martin room, and enjoyed the lovely room and awesome private balcony over-looking the river. Our room was very comfortable, clean, and cool. Since we were there during the week, we didn't get to experience the gourmet breakfast in the Maclellan House dining room, but we enjoyed having breakfast in the courtyard at Rembrandts. We enjoyed having lunch at Tony's and a delicious dinner at the Back Inn Café. We were there visiting friends and family in Chattanooga, so we also ate at some restaurants in the Hixson and Hamilton Place areas.

The Bluff View art district has so many pretty gardens to walk through, and three great restaurants. We visited the bakery, and tasted the most delicious bread we have ever had! Rembrandts had some very delicious pastries, desserts, and chocolates, as well as coffee house drinks. We got a pastry sampler to take back to our room for the evening. YUM!

Kelley did a great job showing us around, and made sure we had our coffee right outside our room each morning. There were also drinks and ice for guests. All restaurant staff were very friendly and the service was great.

This is a very convenient place to stay with lots to do in downtown Chattanooga. Keep in mind, you are close to Erlanger Hospital, and you may hear lots of ambulance sirens throughout the day and at night. Also, keep in mind this is a 100 year old house, and our bathroom had a pedestal sink. It's pretty, but I'm use to having a vanity for styling my hair- so there is not a lot of space in the bathroom for grooming items (curling iron, hair dryer, etc.). Another tip, pack lightly because there is no elevator and you have to carry your bags up a flight or two of steps.

It was a fun place to stay as a couple, but as most B&B's not much on the premises for children to do; but a great place for an anniversary or second honeymoon. I highly recommend the CG Martin room with the wonderful balcony, for watching boats on the water and people strolling in the gardens. The balcony is shaded in the afternoon, and is a wonderful place to sit and relax with a glass of wine in the evening. :)

Room Tip: The older air conditioners were very noisy outside our window. We occasionally heard doors opening a...

If you are visiting Chattanooga then this is the place to stay! Not only is the service great, but you are in nestled in the arts district which consists of a wonderful cafe called Rembrandt's, charming restaurants and one of the best views in downtown Chattanooga.
This area has the most character of any area I saw so we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Look for a room with a view! The Thompson House is great too since it's right besides a charming...

It was a pleasure to stay in the cozy artistic Bluff View village overlooking the TN River. Downtown Chattanooga was easily accessible by foot or bicycle. Didn't use our car once during our long weekend visit. This was our first visit to a B&B and it was much more personable than a typical hotel. We stayed in the Frierson room in the McClellan house; it was small but we weren't planning to spend a great deal of time in the room. Complimentary beverages were always available. The breakfasts served in the adjacent coffee shop were so good, we went back every night for desserts. Highly recommended!

We were surprised by our first contact with staff; NOT friendly! Our room was very nice but the Inn had a party on the patio right below our room. Breakfast was provided at the coffee shop in the complex but it was pretty limited! Parking was an issue, while we stayed here, because the River Bend Music Festival was going on. There weren't spaces saved for guests so parking became a hit-or-miss thing!
If you prefer quiet, DON'T go there during the music festival!

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the river form the MacLellan House. Great view!

I have to start this review with a statement of bias - I am reviewing my own wedding. That being disclosed, the venue, people and food at the bluff view inn made my wedding a most memorable event for friends and family alike. If you passing through Chattanooga or staying for few days and you want to see why everyone lives this town then a visit to the bluff view inn for coffee, food or even a wedding is a must!

We arrived the first day and met Kelley the innkeeper who oriented us not only to the property but the Bluff View area. She was very helpful, pleasant and polite. Our room was just as advertised. We stayed in the CGMartin room at the Martin house. We loved our balcony. It was large enough for several chairs and a small table. It was a perfect place to watch the sun rise every morning with a nice cup of coffee. We experienced no problems or concerns during our stay. There are a couple of things to be aware of about the B&B before you go. Actual breakfast is served only on Saturdays and Sundays. Monday-Friday you have vouchers for the local cafe' which is very close to all 3 houses. The cafe' has a variety of pastries and "make your own" breakfast sandwiches. The coffee is wonderful. There are several local restaurants very close and very tasty! We received superb service at all the Bluff View eateries. The other thing to note is that there is limited parking immediately around the houses. However, There is no reason to have to drive your car if you are visiting the Bluff area, museum, aquarium or IMAX. There is even a bridge over the River for more tasty eating places (Riverstreet Deli and Clumpies) and shopping. We definitely will recommend Bluff View Inn to our friends and hopefully will visit again soon. Sorry I marked there was a pool and there actually not one. My mistake.

Room Tip: The CG Martin room does have a balcony but it is not directly over the river. There is a road that i...
