Don't ever let them put you in room 1005. You would sleep better in an elevator shaft! You hear and feel the elevator doors open on every floor. Postage stamp size room with a comically squeaky mattress. Not even if they offer to pay you should you stay in this room!

The Read House is within walking distance of all the attractions in downtown Chattanooga. It is an elegant old hotel with modern amenities. Our room was beautiful with a sitting area. Although I am not a Starbucks fan many people are and there is one on site. The staff went out of their way to be helpful.

Had to book this hotel at the last minute, and even with an extremely late arrival the front desk staff was still upbeat and very helpful. Everything from the lobby to your room is extremely clean and you are guaranteed to get a wonderful nights sleep in their beds. To me this hotel is in the best location of downtown Chattanooga. Being just a few minutes walk from both the main part of downtown and the other way a few minutes is the new and upcoming South Side area of Chattanooga. Plenty of great boutiques, restaurants and bars, and activities all within minutes of the Reed House.

The hotel lobby is absolutely gorgeous. Everything is well placed and cleaned. This is a hotel that you will not forgot any time soon.

Just wanted to give a quick shout-out to the excellent valet service! They greeted us promptly as we pulled in, were eager to help us with the bags, and aided us in not only bringing bags to the room but having helpful suggestions for making our stay at the Sheraton a great one (His name was Cameron). Thanks again for starting our trip off right.

This hotel has been around for years, but has all the latest Sheraton upgrades. Located downtown, it is near almost everything or just a short hop away.

The staff knows how to put on the "Southern Charm" and makes you feel like you are at home, Darling. They are familiar with Chattanooga and are so excited to help you enjoy their city and hotel facilities. The breakfast buffet (ours was not free) has everything you would expect in Southern cooking, even cheese grits. They bake onsite and the bread items are, simply stated, scrumptious. Try their club sandwich on whole grain.

The rooms are well appointed, but Sugar, the bed was really heavenly. I'm not kidding. It was the best bed of any of the 4 & 5 star hotels we used on this road trip. Can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view on a high floor.

I'm platinum with Starwood so I know their hotels well. I called to ask if there were rooms for early check in and they wouldn't even look. Got here and ended up with numerous stains on every couch, no doorknob on the bathroom door, etc. Very disappointing.

We took our dog so we git a room in the 3rd floor so it's possible our experience was due to lack of care for pet floors. With that said, the room smelled badly, the humidity in the room was gross, it took no less than 20 minutes to get hot water from the sink or tub, walls were peeling, furniture was tattered, just gross room altogether.

I've stayed in many historic hotels and many that accepted pets that did not have these issues.

Then 1 block in any direction and your safety is in question. I prayed my dog didn't have to go outside until sunrise.

So all if this for a ridiculous price. My fault for not doing enough research before a last minute trip to TN.
