What a hidden jewel!! For such an inexpensive hotel one does not expect to find exceptional value and personalized service - the Austrian owner/manager (Martina) even made for us our own waffles in the morning! This "Alpine Lodge" is just off the freeway and is perfectly placed on the hill with a gorgeous view! Try the Alpine for a unique and unexpected experience in the Tennessee heartland!

The service was quite good. There was one experienced desk clerk who was teaching a less experienced person. The room was large with older furniture. The bathroom was clean, but also older. There are quite pretty flowers outside, but older furniture outside. It felt like the owners had worked hard with limited funds to do what needed to be done. There is a computer connection (wired) and they had a cord at the desk you could use. I was on the first floor and wasn't totally sure if the door to the outside patio would be totally secure (but I think it was). The only thing I really disliked was that there were minimal choices for breakfast and everything felt so old. It could still use some sprucing up with some lighting in hallways, plants, etc. However, for the price (a $45 special over the internet), I thought it was a good buy. I probably wouldn't stay again because the Country Inn and Suites in Cookeville is quite good. I would only recommend it if I explained how old everything looked and they weren't able to stay at the Country Inn and Suites. it is very, very quiet and isolated, but does have nice flowers outside and some good views.

This is one of the most quiet places to stay in the Cookeville TN area. It still has finesse of hotel / motels from days in the past. The way you're treated when you first check in to when you're stay is over. I slept really good and never heard any of the other guests. The whole place is very clean and you can tell the staff takes pride in working there and to make sure each guest wants to come back. I plan to stay again this summer!

Booking online is always a worry. When we got here we were welcomed by a very profesional desk clerk. We always check the room before staying. The room was well above our expectations. The beds were so comfortable. Room exceptionaly clean. We even used the guest laundry.

We have stayed in over a hundred hotels/motels and this place has been the best for the money. we recommend it to all travlers.
