Many choices, but everything was done to perfection. Great frying - light and tasty. Friendly staff and interested management.

Recommendations from Trip Advisor led my wife and me to this place. We pulled up to this place on a Sunday early afternoon and only two other cars were in the parking lot. We walked up to the door and the hanging sign said CLOSED, but I turned the doorknob and the door opened; the host greeted us and stated the wind catches the sign a lot and turns it around. Our host was very friendly and accommodating. The outside appearance seemed very unkept. Weeds were prevalent and paint chipping in a lot of places. Inside the foyer you could see grease dripping down the main cooking stove. We were seated in what was once a front porch but now totally enclosed. Aside from the flies swarming us, the place just needed a good scrubbing. Based on the above, we decided not to eat a full-blown meal but only a snack. I had the fried-green tomatoes appetizer and my wife had a side salad; we shared each others' plates of food. The tomatoes were very good. I'll say I'll likely not return here despite the lovely setting along the Little Pigeon River.
We ate here with our daughter while vacationing in Gatlinburg and had the most amazing meal we've had down here! I must say, it's not much from the outside. But, go in anyway. The food is awesome. We started with the mozzarella logs which were gigantic and unlike any fried mozzarella sticks we've ever had. I had the shrimp and grits with the fried green tomatoes as a side. OH.MY.WORD. I can't imagine having anything better. My husband had the burger with yet again a gigantic piece of fried mozzarella. We got our daughter a selection of sides and each one was delicious. I just can't say enough about how good everything was. And our server was so nice and friendly. I wish we lived here so we could eat here all the time!
This place has great food. We are local and have been twice now! Everything we have tried is perfect! The blueberry cobbler was pure delight! The burgers are the best I have ever had, the mozzarella stick... well, you just need to order them to see how unbelievable they are! We also had other items off the menu - it's all wonderful. They really know how to make tea there too! Everyone is super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is one of southern hospitality with a rustic-homey feel. It's so much fun to be there on a night with live music! We love you The Front Porch! Barbara has been our server on both visits... she is great! I can't wait to go back!
Mind you, we love travelling places to eat...that said, the Front Porch is one of our favorite places anywhere. We have a bookstore/coffee shop 9 miles down the road from them, & I try to steer all of our customers to them. Time & time again folks come back to thank me, saying it was one of the best meals on their trip. Locals need to pull in & try them out if they haven't yet. This is a great local place run by guys who who CARE....Tim, Jeff & David did an amazing job at getting the restaurant in order, serving up wonderful southern dishes. I've tried almost everything on the menu, but some of my favorites are the shrimp & grits, fried green tomato blt, the salmon, & just recently we got hooked on their Front Porch burger-they deep fry a massive patty of mozzarella cheese w/bacon on a half lb. burger. INSANE! On that note, they have an app of deep fried mozzarella cheese LOGS (yes, i said logs!) that are amazing, as is their spinach dip. Even if you're not in the area, go out of your way to have a fabulous dining experience. They are byob, so bring your favorite drink if you'd like. Jeez, forgot to mention deserts...bourbon pecan pie, bread pudding w/whiskey sauce, omg, their deserts are to die for. Tell them their fans at Our Place down the road INSISTED you must go! You won't be disappointed, & you'll want to tell everyone you know & be back w/friends!
