We have stayed at the Bird House twice so far this year. We love how it is nestled off the beaten path, yet not far (about a 30 min drive) from Fall Creek Falls which is a must see, Chattanooga is also was only about a 30 min drive, Walmart is only about 15 min away.
The Bird House is always very clean, it smells clean, not cover up clean, but really clean. it is wonderfully decorated and the beds are very comfortable. You will find all the coffee and teas you could want, a few snacks. milk, juice, bagels, cream cheese, to start you off with, an most anything else for cooking, and they always have little gift bags for each of our dogs. They even put out a birthday banner and made brownies for my sister who's 50th birthday we came down (from Michigan) to celebrate
Mitch and Lori are the kindest hosts you will meet, they are there for you or will leave you be it that's what you want. But you will want meet them, they are very talented people, just check out their Glamping at Deer Camp, and hear the other ideas they have for more Airbnbing.
I love this couple, they are great. you will love your stay at THE BIRD HOUSE

This place was amazing!! It had everything we needed!! The hosts were wonderful!!
It is very quiet and out of the way, but close to all the things we wanted to see. Mitch and Lori were very gracious, even clearing a space in their garage so we could park our motorcycle!! We will definitely stay here again when we are this way.

Who would of thought you could find a great home to rent in the small town of Dunlap Tenn.?
Nestled in the quietness of woods that surrounds it, where you see deer, along your drive in, and the sights and smells of the wonderful outdoors.
We walked thru the door to a very clean and wonderfully decorated home. the beds are incredibly comfortable, we all could not believe how good we all slept. Mitch told us " Make yourselves comfortable this is your home away from home" and it really was. There were things that got us started for our stay, milk, juice, bagels, cream cheese, snacks, coffees and Teas.
They even had gift bags for our dogs Kava ( shepard/lab) and Jazz ( shih tzu ) OH yes and its PET FRIENDLY!!! the very best part!!!
My only regret is, we were so busy with family stuff, that we didnt get to enjoy as time at the Bird House as I would have liked. does that sound bad? lol
We can't say enough about Mitch and Lori and the wonderful BIRD HOUSE .
Lori and Mitch were really great, honestly the nicest, friendliest people you could ever meet. Any future visits to Tennessee, we WILL be staying at the BIRD HOUSE

I rarely give five star reviews, but there is absolutely nothing I'd change about the Bird House. It was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and the owners, Mitch and Lori, had given thought to all the details to make visitors' stays go smoothly. From the assortment of coffee and the OJ waiting for us for our breakfast to the grill on the porch ready to fire up to the assortment of DVDs (along with other TV options we didn't explore) for a quiet movie night, Mitch and Lori seem to have thought of everything. We didn't even know about the nearby Falls Creek Falls state park when we reserved our stay at the Bird House, but it turned out to be an incredibly impressive falls, made especially so by rain the day we arrived. We hope to visit again sometime!
1 review I had the chance to stay at this lovely, well decorated and well kept location this summer and I couldn't have been happier that I did. The owners Lori and Mitch were wonderful and very accomidating. They did a wonderful job transforming this space into a home-away-from-home. The beds were comfortable, the fire pit was just right with the makings of s'mores in the full kitchen. Snacks and the coffee bar were on point as well. The Bird House is a great place to stay and I will be back next summer when I go and explore more of Fall Creek Falls.
