We stayed at "The Riverhouse" on Memorial Day weekend in 2011. When we arrived the house had cobwebs hanging in the corners. The kitchen is in dyer need of being updated. The air conditioning wasn't working the weekend we stayed. My daughter, husband and grandson stayed in a tent outside it was so hot inside. The basement was terrible....remember pictures can be deceiving. There is no door in the basement nor a dehumidifier. There was one in the closet but it had a sign that said do not use. Needless to say the basement was always humid and wet after a bath was taken down there. I called the owner to tell him about the air conditioning and the fact that the house was not clean...not to my standards anyway. He didn't offer a refund or any kind of compensation. We also thought by the pictures that this house was away from town....NOT! It's really close to town and getting to it one wondered where one was going. Not the best neighborhood or so it seemed. Houses very close or I should say small mobile homes that mostly were not kept up. The only nice thing I can say about this place was the picture was true that the river was in the backyard but...the temps were in the mid to upper 90's when we were there and with no air conditioning our stay was miserable. The owner was hard to contact also and didn't return my call when I told him I would like some kind of a refund for my daughter and her family staying outside.
