“Wonderful place and great people”

My husband and I have stayed at this location for the last 7 years to celebrate our anniversary and were a little nervous as the hotel changed names. We had no reason to be nervous at all. Upon checking in we were waited on by a young lady who had just finished dealing with a really unhappy guest who had not cancelled her reservations for the night before and was upset because her credit card had been charged and her room had been given to another guest. As we waited to check in we were impressed with how the lady at the desk handled it all.
After we got to our room we discovered that our Jacuzzi tub wasn't working my husband called the desk and the young man on duty was at our door within moments. He wasn't sure what was wrong so he moved our room within minutes.
On Sunday we went down to enjoy the free breakfast and found the dining area overran with young men who appeared to be with a baseball team. We took our food back to our room but it was very hot and fresh. We will be back next year!!

Our over all stay was nice. We we got to our room and the first thing we did was checked for bed bugs, which is what we do at any Hotel we stay at. There were no signs of the bugs, but as doing so we notice that behind the beds were a mess. It look like they have never vacuumed behind the beds or around the baseboards and I really don't think they even vacuum the whole carpet. For the most part the rest of the room was fairly clean. The toilet when flushed ran constantly, you had to jiggle the handle to get it to stop. The sink drained really, really slow. The beds were pretty comfy, but they were full size not queen like indicated when making the reservations. We only spoke to the staff at check-in and they were friendly. The free breakfast they offer was good and they offered a variety of things to eat. We chose this Hotel because of price and location to the attractions we were going to. We stayed 3 nights and overall not a bad Hotel for the price.

Four things that detracted from the experience:

1. Room had that smell of disinfectant that cheaper lodgings seem to use. As if they want to "prove" they cleaned before you arrived. My wife and I both commented that better places use something that doesn't smell so strong.

2. Room 206 toilet rocks back an forth; little disconcerting though certainly not dangerous.

3. Shower makes god awful noise when being turned off.

4. Towels not the plushest in the world.

Tried to find more expensive accomodations elsewhere but hard to find a place in Franklin on 8/31/2013. Bed was comfortable; breakfast nice, fitness room and pool looked fine So, for the money, it was OK.

Great Service - Very friendly personal.
Food was good, fresh egg and sausage.
Grounds were well kept up.

This is probably the worst Comfort Inn (or like hotel) that I have ever stayed in. When we checked in, we were told we were staying in a non-smoking room. The door (room #107) did not indicate it was a non-smoking room (though other rooms did have that designation), and sure enough, when we opened the door, the smell of smoke just billowed out. But what really spoiled it was that the toilet seat actually had blood on it. Not sure how that could be considered clean. So, when I went to the front desk to ask for another room, I was informed that they had none available. He also assured me it was a non-smoking room, only that people still smoked in it sometimes (beyond their control). Behind him were all the room keys for reservations of people who had not checked in yet. Could he have swapped rooms for someone who had yet to check in (and re-cleaned the room he gave us)? Sure. Was he willing to do that? No. He basically said we could check out and leave, or he could come down and disinfect the toilet. As the Nashville area was basically full due to a football game, we had to stay.

Other issues: the framed art on the walls had water stains and was moldy. Is this a huge issue? No. Could they have taken $20 out of petty cash and gone to the Goodwill down the street and bought some non-moldy art for the walls? Sure. But they obviously don't care. The chairs had cigarette burns on the upholstery (odd for a non-smoking room) and they were also chipped up and run down looking. There were small holes in the wall behind the bed. The room was generally not up to any expectation of clean (the top of the refrigerator, for example, was not wiped down. The carpeting had tears, etc., etc. Really, this should be a 1 1/2 star property, maybe 2 stars at most. Not 2 1/2 or whatever it is rated.

The complimentary breakfast was fine for what it was. No complaints there. I didn't feel unsafe in the room. The A/C worked. It is what it is.

Room Tip: Avoid room #107. Make sure if you ask for a non-smoking room, that you get one.
