I really expected more from this chain. Although the walls were freshly painted, The carpet was the most stained I have ever seen in a hotel. We put shoes on every time we walked on the floor. You could see awful filth against the walls & behind the beds too along with a pet? toy. The chairs were just as bad.
One of my biggest hotel pet peeves is a stopped up drain & here it was the tub (I left a note on this one although there were no comment cards in the room). Also there was hair left on the tub enclosure (and not just one). The towels were also thin, rough & very small. It seemed part of the room had been remodeled with new sink, countertop, toilet, etc but not all. As for other amenities they only had rooms with a king or 2 doubles (no queens) which is tough when you have 3 adults. Also cable is very basic-no HGTV, Food Network, Discovery, etc. & the TV, although a flat screen was a cheap model. The sound wasn't very adjustable at the quieter end. I did use the pool & it was small but fine & breakfast was typical for this type of hotel. Well stocked with enough choices. Eggs are mixed (powdered) and could have been warmer. The nice entry area does not indicate the rooms. Outside entrances does encourage guests to stand in the doorway & smoke (I saw a guest doing this at a room) but for folks who don't want to haul suitcases far this is a chance you take. We were in a 1st floor room. The AC worked just fine although the temp settings jumped in increments of 2 degrees. The location was very quiet. I did hear the refrigerator click on several times, but it wasn't noisy.
I didn't pay for the room & often people say you get what you pay for, but I don't believe that with a chain hotel. Regardless of the area pricing I expect a certain level from these chains across the country, especially something as simple as a clean looking floor! I will be submitting this same review to Choice Hotels.com too
As silly as this sounds, the toilets drove me crazy! They were extremely loud. Towels were thin, thin, thin and small and limited i.e. 4 thin small towels for two people. There were tiles out under the sink. It seemed clean enough. The king sized bed was very hard. They did have pay for view and cable which was good. The complimentary breakfast was the typical southern fare pastries, eggs, biscuits and gravy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ok for the price but probably won't stay there again.
