“Don't stay here unless you are desperate!”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

We have stayed in other Americas Best Values and were pleased, but this place was awful! We asked for a non-smoking room and it smelled strongly of smoke. When we asked to have another room they brought a can of air freshener and sprayed it inside the doorway for a minute. There was mold in the bathtub, the sink faucet stuck so you had to use force to pull it up, there were cigarette burn holes in the bedspread, and there was no hair blower! The breakfast consisted of cereal, canned peaches, tiny muffins, coffee and juice. We won't be returning to this motel, but the one in Hartselle, Alabama was really nice for the cost.

Room Tip: Choose another place to stay!

We were tired and needed a place to stay. Most places were booked. Our room was $80 after taxes which was way too much for the room. Walls were thin and noisy. Close to the interstate and traffic noise was bad as well. No hair dryer or iron in the room. Awful

We were tired and made a last minute decision to stay in a hotel. We looked for the cheapest room we could find. The first room we were assigned had mildew in the shower-so I went to the desk and asked for another room. Staff was sweet and assigned another room. We had a non-smoking room which smelled like cigarette smoke (this was the second room) It had clean bed sheets and a clean bathroom. The air conditioner worked great. The TV had cable but "green" picture. Breakfast consisted of cereal and milk , coffee, or juice. Nothing spectacular here, but For $39.99 just outside Nashville, TN what do you want! It was obvious that at least one of the three wings of the hotel was for semi-permanent residence.

Room Tip: We ended up in a second floor room--- the first floor room had mildew.

We expected to get what we paid for and considering our meal at neighbouring Hooters cost us more than the room we were happy the door locked, the loo flushed and the aircon worked. We booked 3 other ABVIs on our road trip so this was our first encounter with the chain/franchise.

Check in was good and quick and the lady was friendly and efficient.

Room - basic and had coffee making facilities, and was reasonably clean and tidy. Toiletries supplied and all things worked.

We were upper floor - and at the end of the block that faced the carpark and Hooters. Once door was closed all Highway noise disappeared.

I used the pool which was a good size and clean and towels were supplied. The clientele using the pool with me was a bit like the cast from My Name is Earl - which amused me, but they were friendly and let me carry on with my lengths for an hour undisturbed --- just had to dodge a few of the kids and their basketball now and again.

Breakfast was adequate and included in the price.

Check out was just as smooth as check in.

Would recommend if for a night only - but a bit out of the city if you are there to explore Downtown and the real nightlife .... but we were coming back for that and staying near Opryland on our return.

All in all a first good experience of the ABVI brand.

Room Tip: Get an upstairs one at the end of the block .... to ensure the least disturbance. We had none.

Checked in late one night in august and was greeted by lazy and slow service from the guy and young girl in the office. You have to stand outside after a certain time of night and they take advantage of this it was like watching paint dry. So we finally get to our room and the dog needs to go out. The guy sees the dog and says he has to put us in a different room now and charge $15 more. (I booked online and thought it was taken care of.) Anyway the new room was appallingly bad. It smelled STRONGLY of cat pee and cigarette burns covered the outdated and discolored surfaces. Odd and mysterious stains were present on chair and comforter. In a word: disturbing

Morning clerk was very nice. Booked and paid hotel in advance. Upon arrival the entire booking was wrong. Had to redo it at the same rate. Got a non smoking room in which obviously smoking was evident.. too many live in people at the hotel and make it there home. Staff knew everyone by name and joking around...felt out of place as a traveler. Room 126 has shower handle coming out of wall.. only had two towels for three people. Would not stay at the same chain again

This was by far the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The first room they gave us the air conditioning did not work, the second room wasn’t much better, it never cooled the room properly. In both rooms the bedding reeked of cigarette smoke! The sheets on the beds were a dingy white. The television did not work. The bath towels were very thin and no bar soap. Only two bath towels, two hand towels and two wash cloths. It was OK being it was just my wife and I in the room. At 11:00 pm they lock the lobby doors and you have to deal with the staff through a small window near the lobby entrance. That made us feel real safe and secure staying here. We slept with one eye open and my wife slept with her clothes on and we definitely would not walk on the carpeting bare footed. The only reason we stayed here was because the first hotel we stopped at had no vacancies and being on the road for 16 hours we were too tired to look any further. Our BIG mistake! We would have been better off sleeping in the car.

Room Tip: Look first before you pay.
