My (now husband) and I were looking for a quiet, private, relaxing place to have our wedding that was close to home. What we experienced was beyond our wildest dreams. Our ceremony was so beautiful and heartfelt. David and Sharon made our special day just that; truly special. It wasn't a cookie cutter ceremony, where you could plug just any ole bride and groom into the picture. They truly listen to you and make every effort to make sure that the day is custom tailored to what you want. Even the AMAZING, professional photographs were a total custom fit. To say that we were pleased with the hospitality, accommodations, food and ceremony, is a gross understatement! There is no way we could have planned a better weekend. From the moment we arrived, we were transported to a whole other world. A world where the simplest (and best) things in life were amplified beyond belief! The hosts are the most down-to-earth, generous, thoughtful, and pleasant people to be around. They made our stay so thoroughly enjoyable. From lit candles and decadent desserts waiting after a trip to town, to having a crackling fire and hot apple cider waiting after a long hike, getting caught in the rain. From the turned down beds, to the breakfast on the porch in the morning sun, we were treated like royalty. They are so skilled in the culinary arts, you almost feel as if you are in a 5 star restaurant, minus the cold, impersonal wait staff and clinking utensils of a nearby table. The house is so incredibly charming and inviting. Each room is so quaint and comfy, but its hard to stay inside with all the amazing grandeur of the gardens and trails that beckoned us at every turn. It was during all the walking that my husband and I really reconnected to nature and was able to truly appreciate all of God's glory. It is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to be stressed at this place. I am proud to say that we have carried this visit with us, and try to recreate it with daily walks together. A visit to Butterfly Hollow will truly bless you and forever change your life. I know it did ours.....

We will definitely be back on EVERY anniversary, with our walking shoes on ;)

Room Tip: Both rooms are great. Each has it's own breathtaking view!

Thank you .. Thank you ... Thank you!! We'll take a walk along the walking trails today and think about the two of you. May the path lead you back to the hollow one day soon.

Step back to a kinder gentler place in the back of your mind where you rock on the front porch, listening to the sounds of birds fluttering, and your own breathing...in and out, as the stress just amazingly melts away - and it's not that you aren't compelled to keep your cell phone with you as always, but somehow that ol electronic leash becomes less important than the smells of some amazing incredibly delicious breakfast wafting from the kitchen. What will your day be here? Will you walk the trails, or soak in the hot tub, or rock on the porch, listening to music, reading a book, snuggling with your sweetheart, or laughing with friends...what your day will be is what you make it. Whether a private get-away, a personal wedding, an anniversary, this place is not for the thrill-seeking-music-blaring-information junkie. It is not a resort or a theme park or a hotel chain....and its innkeepers are not antiseptic impersonal wait staff - they are family, friends, keepers of the flame, and this is their home. Five years ago, Butterfly Hollow provided us an unbelievable, tailor made, perfect, private, extremely personal wedding, and now, the absolute spot-on anniversary weekend. A renewal of spirit and soul, and a comfortable reuniting with these dear friends. For, once you experience The Hollow, once it beckons you from that place in your mind that says "come, take the road less traveled"....you are forever part of that timeless connection to a kinder, gentler place where perhaps your great grandma would have stood, walking the trail of herbs and flowers, and reminding you "just breathe...in and out...in and out"....

Room Tip: This is a lovingly restored 1800's farmhouse and you have the choice of one of the two amazing upstairs rooms. No need to ask David and Sharon to fluff the feather pillows, or spread the comfy quilt, because it's already done.

Thank you for sharing such thoughtful words. We really enjoyed seeing you both again too and the wonderful conversations around the breakfast table, and out on the porch sipping a little wine. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Warmly,

David & Sharon

Our wedding at Butterfly Hollow on September 3, 2011 was better than we ever could have imagined. David and Sharon made the whole planning process stress-free. From the welcome sign greeting our guests to the decorations within the farmhouse and on the gazebo, they went above and beyond to make everything extra special for our wedding day. The scenery is just beautiful and the the gazebo up on the hill made for the perfect setting for our intimate outdoor ceremony. Even though there was record-breaking heat that day, we managed to stay cool in the shade. Everything turned out perfect and our guests are still raving about it all these months later! I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an intimate wedding venue or just a relaxing weekend in the country. Thanks again David and Sharon!

We chose Butterfly Hollow as the destination for our wedding after finding the B&B online - everytime we looked at the website we fell more in love with it. Words cannot express how thankful we are that we found Butterfly Hollow - it was everything we hoped for and more. David and Sharon have filled their home with so much warmth that we instantly felt welcome and at home. The hollow is such a beautiful place, and there are many places to explore nature, sit and enjoy the view, or just relax with a good book. Our wedding was absolutely wonderful; from the gorgeous details with the bouquet and cake, to the words of the ceremony itself - we feel so blessed to have been able to experience our wedding in such a beautiful and loving place. Oh, and if you're curious at all about the food - all of the meals and treats were sooo good - everything was simply delicious! Butterfly Hollow definitely has such a special place in our hearts; we are looking forward to visiting again for our anniversary. Beautiful scenery, a comfy chair (or hammock) on the porch, music, and good company - we can't wait!
