We want to love the Down Home, but they don't make it easy. We arrived at 7:45 for an 8:00 show and were told when we paid our door fee that we needed to get our food order in before the show started. **They don't tell you this on the web site.** We immediately sought out the waitress who said "Don't worry, we'll get you some food." So we sat and waited; she was obviously busy. We waited...and waited...and after half an hour we tracked her down again. "Oh," she said. "I forgot about you. Well, we ran out of food anyway, and the kitchen closed." Um, thanks a lot. Is there still popcorn? "No, we've run out of popcorn." You've run out of popcorn??? So we bought a couple of drinks, watched the first half, and went off to find a more obliging kitchen.
The website also doesn't tell you their address. Kinda basic stuff that would be helpful for visitors, you know.
We can't tell you about the food -- we visited once before and all they could give us was popcorn, so we haven't actually managed to eat there yet. But the music was just fine. If you can track down the address, and arrive 45 minutes before the show to get your food order in, you'll enjoy it.
