I don't usually do reviews of chain restaurants because they're usually all the same. But this location is different. The staff at this restaurant consistently goes above and beyond to give good service and make sure you have a pleasant meal. We visit Johnson City at least once a year and we always eat at this restaurant at least once, this year we ate there twice! Being a chain, they can't control what is on their menu, but they make up for it with the best service around! Keep it up, guys!!

We chose a Saturday evening with son and daughter-in-law to celebrate birthdays. We eat at Carrabba's several times a year, usually for special occasions, and I must say that it is an above average chain restaurant, but our experience this time was not. The food was good, but the rushed manner and impatient attitude of our server Lauren dampened our pleasure with the food. At each visit to the table, she seemed to be racing to get our order, rushing away from the table before the last of a request was spoken. Her visits were timely, but her requests for what we needed were spoken with an impatient tone, mechanically, as if having to wait on us was an imposition. After we had ordered dessert, one person in our party prefers hot water and lemon to coffee or tea. She asked for hot water in a coffee cup. The waiter asked if it were "to go", and rushed from the table as we were clarifying, asking for a mug. She returned with a tall styrofoam container filled with hot water, without stopping or saying anything. It was obvious that her mistake was caused by her impatience. Later we asked again for the water in a mug, which she brought with no apology, no comment. We sat for a few minutes after we had finished our desserts, and Lauren returned asking in a brusk manner if we needed a bag, but left in a rush. As I had observed her, all of her movements from table to table appeared to be "racing." We felt rushed throughout the meal, and after we had finished eating, taking a few moments to visit, we felt as if we were being prompted to leave. I understand the busyness of a popular restaurant on a Saturday night and the need to serve others who are waiting, but feeling rushed after paying $125+ for 4 meals should be accompanied by some courtesy and appreciation. Servers should have to earn their 20% tip.

We were staying at The Courtyard Marriott and the manager there recommended nearby Carrabba's for dinner. This is a nice surprise for a chain restaurant--good-quality food and efficient, friendly service. Both the veal piccata and small sirloin marsala were unexpectedly delicious. Loved the complimentary bacon/onion flatbred (a small, crispy pizza). Nice wine list by the glass, as well as a good $5 a glass Monday special.

We were in town for a meeting and having a bad experience at the Holiday Inn. So we headed to Carrabba's for what we knew would be a nice meal. As always, the food was very good and the service great. We tried the bruschetta -- lots of calories, but light and very tasty. I had the chicken Caesar [always good] and my partner tried a pasta dish with chicken, artichoke hearts, olives, sun dried tomatoes--very nice. We needed and appreciated an evening of "comfort food" at this, one of the few chains we like to frequent when we're traveling.
