The Ijams Nature center has a beautiful walking trail and a very interesting welcome center. Inside the building were a few different exhibits that turned out to be a lot of fun for the kids. Outside the welcome center is a small area with exotic birds to look at. Unfortunately, we did not see any of the exotic birds the day we went, so be aware that it is not guaranteed that you will see the birds. The trail itself was beautiful, with bridges on a mountain and next to a lake. There is also plenty of free parking available in the parking lot. Overall, we will be going back for a fun nature walk!

We visited here about 10:00 in the morning during the week. There was a class going on by the visitors center. We went on several trails and found each of them to be plenty wide enough. Some are paved and some are dirt. It was a very quiet and peaceful place.

Hiked and discovered a field of sunflowers. So very glad to have found this place. Would highly recommend going hiking here.

Feeling a need for stretching your legs and letting your dog run? Kids need a change of scenery? This is the place to see some great scenery and have a picnic. Fun things for the kids to play on, great walking/hiking paths, including a portion along the river, and it is pet friendly as long as they are on a leash.

We did not have time to walk very far but what we did see was beautiful. It was so quiet and calming. We really hope to return and allow more time to explore the trails. It is quite the find.
