Description: You have arrived - the end of the road, and the end of your search for great barbeque in East Tennessee. Dead End Barbeque was born at the end of a dead-end street where neighbors gathered to barbeque. For more than a decade the Dead End Society honed their barbequing skills in the dead end, and in professional barbeque competitions where they achieved national recognition. The Dead End BBQ restaurant has been created to take you there. To the smells, the sounds, and the homemade tastes of an exceptional American neighborhood barbeque in East Tennessee.

Came from Chicago-stopped here had to try it out. Family of 5- First walking in the hostess had a sour puss on her face, and was rude - but we couldn't let that stick with us. Our waitress however was amazing. The food was great - have to get the wings.

Can't tell you how disappointed I was after hearing so much about The Dead End. We ordered take out and waited over 45 minutes once we got there after we called and they said our order was ready. Disappointing as that was, after 45 minutes, we were given the wrong order. After three attempts, the person at the take out stated they would go back to the kitchen and make sure they started on our order. and additional 30 minutes later, our order was ready. The food was absolutely ill-prepared. Brisket was in tiny pieces as if we got the bottom of the pan. No piece was bigger than a dime. regular BBQ pork was gooey and cold. Then the prices. This place is pricey even if the food was good. This place has a lot of fans, now they have 6 less.

My hubby brought me here as he's tried it when in classes with TEMA. We were in the neighborhood and stopped in for lunch.

I got the dead end Mac attack and he got a burger. The portions are massive and the 'q is quite good. Not a religious experience like I've had before with 'q, but very good.

If you're in that part of Knoxville, give it a try.

We stopped here twice in one week during a road trip, and it was fantastic both times. Great BBQ. Service was fast and friendly. Food was amazing. Fried okra was a fun surprise. And be sure to save room for the banana pudding. Unbelievable!

It came highly recommended by a local so I had to try it. It was quite a drive from the hotel. The service was very friendly and attentive. The bbq (sampler plater with sausage, chicken and pulled pork with okra and fries) was rather cold. The fries were very salty and the okra bland. I had to pile up some (rather tasty) sauce to eat it. Considering the hype I felt so-so about it.
