Owner description: Since 2010, Haunted Knoxville Ghost Tours has been spooking customers during investigation-based ghost tours. These tours have been features in SyFy Channels "Ghost Hunters" magazine recognizing the extent of Knoxville's Historical and Haunting past. Deemed the "Hidden Gem of Haunted America", these excursions are personally led by owner J. Adam Smith, who has been featured as an expert on Paranormal Paparazzi and has investigated paranormal activity for over a decade, taking tour-goers on educational, researched journeys to local haunts on public or private tours that, depending on the tour, traverse graveyards, Gay Street Bridge, and an old Confederate jail. Participants may reach out and connect with the spirits who committed a three-way homicide or the ghosts of hanged men at the actual locations of paranormal activity. These tours take guests on investigations with trained paranormal professionals to locations known for their traumatic histories. Another reason HKGT have been receiving the Nations attention is due to the fact participants are given real professional paranormal investigation tools to help encourage paranormal evidence and encourage team building. This tour was awesome! It was my first and my wife's second "ghost" tour. It was a fun 2.5 hours and didn't feel rushed. However, I must say that the highlight was the crazy history that we learned about our downtown that I had never heard growing up here. I would highly recommend, and we will do the trolley tourn next! Thank you fellow haunted Leesburg friend!

My husband and I joined another couple downtown for dinner and wanted to do something different afterward. You know, dinner and a movie or concert gets kind of old. We had a small group of about 10 people and our guide, J. Adam Smith, was a fantastic tour leader. None of the four of us are that into paranormal activity and ghost hunting but the rich historical aspect of the tour was fascinating. It was a great way to walk off our dinner while learning new things about the history of Knoxville.

The beginner's ghost hunting equipment consisted of flashlights and other devices easily purchased on Amazon so I'm not sure if this is for the serious ghost hunting enthusiast. However, this is a very entertaining 2.5 hour adventure for the open minded skeptic. We had a playful time and hopefully our guide was not offended by our light hearted jesting regarding contact (or lack thereof) with the spirit world. I highly recommend this tour for both residents and visitors to our wonderful city who want to experience a different way to enjoy an evening out in the open air and to learn some perhaps lesser known historical details and rumored hauntings. Mr. Smith has a great energy and passion for the history of the city and paranormal activity and it was the most fun I have had on a night out in quite some time. I hope to enjoy another one of his tours very soon.

I have been on ghost tours in many cities (Charleston, Savanah, etc) , but this was definitely the most fun and impressive. J provided the tools and instructions for properly investigating and verifying paranormal experiences, then led our group on a historic tour of locations around downtown (many with histories that we weren't aware of, even as long time locals). Not only was the history interesting, but our group actually had intelligent interactions at multiple locations via the provided tools.
We can't wait to do this again!

Mr Smith leads a fun 2.5ish hour tour where you learn something new about the history of Knoxville on every corner.
The coolest part his he gives a crash course in paranormal investigation and allows you to use his tools to become the investigator.
This tour is fun and interesting for any age and Mr Smith's charisma and excitement kept us hooked. He was as happy about us getting possible positive readings as we were. He was able answer any questions we had about the history of the area. His respect for the town and attention to its past made this a really unique experience.
We cannot wait to come back and take one of the other tours he offers.

We've been on many tours & theres no comparison. J-Adam Smith teaches u how & gets you involved hands on with real equipment. The Historical knowledge J shares will never let you see Knoxville the same again.
