It's a Comfort Inn off the highway so we were expecting the standard room with bed, tv, desk and chair overlooking the parking lot or possibly the highway itself and a pool at the nether end also overlooking the parking lot. But this Comfort Inn, located in a pleasant setting with trees and refreshingly quiet, offers a central courtyard that houses the pool and outdoor tables and seating. Nice landscaping around the pool, a gazebo, and outdoor grills elevate this pool above the standard off-highway hotel pools. The room was spacious and clean and included a pillowtop mattress bed that was very comfy along with desk and chair and a couch. Our poolside room also included a balcony (first floor rooms offer a patio) with two chairs. There's an indoor hot tub located near the pool.

Areas to improve: The property is showing a few signs of age and needs a little refurbishment here and there. A sign in the lobby appologized for ongoing construction work, but we did not hear or see any of that. Balcony/patio furniture could do with a good wipe down. Some of the stucco coating on the building is damaged, but that's limited to a few spots. The king bed had two nightstands but only one lamp -- difficult if two people want to read in bed.

Pluses: Free breakfast: The lobby is attractive and is also the setting for the free daily breakfast--waffle machine, cereals, fruits, breakfast breads and pastries, coffee, juices, hot oatmeal, eggs, sausages--which you can eat at pub style tables or take outside to enjoy around the pool. Pool landscaping: Plants, rocks, stone paths, a waterfall, and night lighting add to the ambience. Nearby restaurants: Withing walking distance if you've had enough of being in the car, you'll find Carrabas, Peerless, and several other eateries. Peerless will deliver food to the front desk if you'd rather stay in.

Good to know: The two-story hotel has no elevator, so if climbing stairs is an issue, be sure to request a ground floor room. For a nice view and resort-like feel, request a poolside room. During our stay, this area was quiet. Could get noiser on weekends.

Too bad this hotel is in such bad shape as it's in a great spot. I've stayed here twice but there won't be a 3rd.

We stayed at this hotel after a Tennessee Vols game, the room was ok, beds were good. There was dust on the towel bar in the bathroom which sort've raised and eyebrow.
The morning we were leaving, I was getting out of the shower and the power went out in the bathroom and dressing room. We waited and waited, still no power. We finally muddled through opening up the blinds and turning on all the other lights.
During the breakfast bar,(which was an experience all in itself) we found out that just about everybody in the whole hotel has some kind of outage, just different places.
When we got back to the room to finish packing it got warm in the room so we attempted to cut on the air conditioner, out also...
Bad ending to a decent trip.
But Vols won so made it all ok!

This was previously a Marriott Courtyard which lost its flag and it shows.

I was in Knoxville for business, but brought spouse. She was not happy.

While the Lobby has been completely refurbished, the rest of the place appears to be a work in progress. The staff was friendly, the breakfast was fine, but the bathroom in our room was dirty and beyond the lobby, the public areas needed maintenance.

Rm. 154 was really in poor shape. Mildew in shower, peeling wallpaper, no less than 13 dime size holes in wall that were spackled, dead (wierd/big) bug under sink. Stayed here 2 years ago, and will not stay again for the price they are asking. Breakfast was nice...but whole hotel is showing much wear. Very disappointed,
