“Some good, some bad”
Reviewed 14 February 2014 via mobile

We had a dinner meal at la jarochita, the place was packed with a nice mix of locals and tourists. It was valentines day however, because it was so busy we had to wait a while for a table and then again to be served.

The decor is bright and cheerful with each chair painted a different colour (blue, pink, yellow, green), the inside has a couple if fans but it was hot - really sticky hot, the outside balcony only had a couple of tables and it is a 'smoking' area.

The food, I had a burrito, it was average - chicken and beans with a small salad, my husband had the chimichangas this was amazing, really delicious - chicken and mozzarella inside a pastry with salsa and sour cream and beans on the side.

The final comment is the bill, we don't speak anything but very broken Spanish, the bill arrived and was $C258, + tax + propina (tip) = $C322, so for nica prices slightly more expensive but ok, however they gave us incorrect change, and our Spanglish wasn't good enough to try correct it so we just left a few dollars down.

All in all a reasonable choice, but if it's packed expect slow service!

“Delicious food at an excellent price”
Reviewed 27 May 2013 via mobile

Very colourful restaurant with helpful staff and quick service. The food was delicious and I am not sure how it only has a couple of reviews as the restaurant was full when we were there!
I had fajitas which were really good and my frien had burritos which were also yummy. Each dish of our dishes cost 120 cordobas - about £3. Delicious!

“Colorful Ambience”
Reviewed 3 March 2013

B&B owner in Granada and guests recommended Jarochita. Ate there on first night in Masaya. Sat on patio and it was noisy, but preferred it to inside. My fajitas were very good. Everyone had sumptuous plates full of Mexican/Nica goodness. Easy to find and worth the visit.
