We arrived on a Saturday evening to a warm and friendly welcome from Patrick, a genuinely nice guy with bucket loads of Irish charm! Our room was lovely, well furnished a great size and had a fabulous view overlooking the lake. We dined in the restaurant that evening, our table was perfect, at the window looking out over the lake. Our meal was simply perfect, fine dining at its best. We thoroughly enjoyed all courses but my favourite had to be my starter of scallops with asparagus, it was heavenly.. We slept well and then had a wonderful breakfast the next morning before departing. St Kyrans is such a beautiful place well located in the centre of Ireland, we would highly recommend it.

This was a lovely B&B, more to the standard of a hotel than a B&B. We stayed in a beautiful lake-view room, and dined in the restaurant, which overlooked the lake with lovely candles flickering on the patio. The shower is a wonder to behold, like a rain forest shower, ah I dream of this shower! So nice, so much attention to detail, I just love that someone takes so much care in their establishment.

While it is close to Virginia (maybe 10-15 mins walk), it is just off the main road, but it is so quiet, almost like an oasis! If there was one suggestion (teeny weeny) to the fantastic management, some landscaping in the front would turn this B&B from amazing to out of the world amazing - but you do so much otherwise, this is insignificant. Well done guys.

Room Tip: Ahh room with a lake view!

Completely amazing B&B, more like a hotel. Very friendly polite and acting staff. Made us feel at ease im medical and our 8 year old. Rooms are stunning (we are in room 7, family room) with amazing lake views very spacious. Excellent facilities even including a DVD player and good selection of choices all included in room price. The restaurant is impeccable in terms of the service, friendly staff and food which is out of this world and frankly better than a Michelin starred that we have experienced. Could not fault it as a family, a real little jewel of a place to stay and an totally recommend to any family wanting a wonderful place to base yourself in Cavan. We will definitely come again when visiting family. Thank you so much.

We returned to St Kyrans last week to a fantastic welcome. As always the food was excellent. The warm gingerbread with butterscotch sauce is to die for, ask for it with honeycomb ice cream and you have the best of everything. The homemade breads are the best we have ever had .I even think the portions are getting bigger.

Patricia who was looking after us deserves an award for customer service. She kept everyone happy and was very attentive without being intrusive.

We had our wedding there a year and a half ago, the full ceremony and reception and cannot recommend St kyrans enough. The attention to fine detail makes it a place apart from everywhere else.

Can't wait to go there again and maybe stay in one of the fantastic rooms .

Thank you so very much Patrick, Helena , Patricia and of course we cannot forget the back of house staff who provide the wonderful food.

Thank you to you all.

Room Tip: A lake view is a must if you can get one. Make sure you book in for dinner as well as it is not to b...

Had a gorgeous dinner here for Valentines. Food was amazing and service was so professional and staff very friendly (though by the end of the meal the place was so busy it took a while to get our servers attention but that's forgiveable). The restaurant is beautiful and very cosy. I'd say there's an amazing view of the lake in summer and can't wait to go back then.

My only complaint would be that there was only a set menu available on the evening we were there as it was Valentines and at €55 per person I thought it was a bit expensive. That's before you pay for wine. You got a lot of good for that I suppose though, it included an amuse bouch, starter, main, pre dessert and an sharing plate of desserts, tea & coffee and petit fours which was more than enough food! it was the best meal I've eaten in all of Meath or Cavan. Totally recommend it. I received a rose when we were leaving too which I thought was a nice touch!

We stayed for one night.

On arrival we were treated to one of the most beautiful panoramic views of Lough Ramor framed by a sumptuously furnished and decorated restaurant.

The owners were on hand to personally welcome us and treated us like old friends they were delighted to see.

We were shown to our ample and luxurious bedroom and asked if it was okay. We could have stayed here happily enjoying the peaceful view till we fell asleep.

Instead we enjoyed the finest meal I have ever eaten in the fabulous restaurant. The breakfast in the morning was equally delicious.

We can't wait to go back. Must even bring the kids next time.
