My husband and I booked this home in February as our military elopement wedding venue for both the ceremony and the reception. Great price and plenty of space! Lots of sleeping room, big kitchen, large living spaces, huge yard, lots of room for parking. Much to my dismay, the host realized a month before the wedding that she forgot to build in event fees, taxes, etc., so she asked us to pay an additional $3,000 or she'd cancel the reservation. In a frantic effort to save the wedding, we paid her extra money even though we'd already paid in full. That aside, we arrived on check-in day at 3PM and her home wasn't ready (they were still cleaning). She blamed the previous guests, and we finally got to move our stuff inside around 4:30PM. The photos are not an accurate representation of the home -- It's actually a bit untidy, the pool was completely green and not usable, and it is overall unpolished. Some examples include: notes taped to walls, sharpie written on light switches, an inoperable dishwasher, empty potters on the porches, molded picnic tables, stained curtains, light fixtures with no sockets for bulbs by the front door, pamphlets and reading material all over the kitchen/dining area like a rest stop, lumber lying in the flowerbed, firewood strewn about the back patio, I stumbled upon a used diaper by the pool, ripped bags of shells on the deck, broken bricks on the front steps, etc. The front main restroom contained: a tub that had missing tiles replaced with paper held in place by NEON ORANGE DUCT TAPE, an enema table complete with tubes, coconut oil, and even a poster on the wall of a colon. I can't make this stuff up. None of it is displayed in the photos of the home. We spent the first two days hiding all of the above (with strategic towel placement), although she knew we had booked this for our wedding. ON MY WEDDING DAY, she sent over an AC guy to check the AC, as well as her friend to "lock her closet" while we were trying to set up. Not cool. The house rules state that trash should be placed in the carport area, and she told me her house manager would check on it when she stopped by. She didn't, and the host was upset that we didn't drive it to the dump for her. This home is also advertised as a music venue. However, the neighbors were not made aware of our event, nor were we made aware of any local sound ordinances. In general, this house might be better suited as a family reunion space or something less formal. As a wedding venue, this home isn't ready, and the photos are quite frankly false advertisement. Considering the event fees we disappointingly paid on top of our original booking fees, the host failed to offer the kind of facility that was promised here.
What a beautiful place to stay..........move over Ritz Carlton I'll be staying here from now on!
Book this place fast soon as the word gets out their won't be a room :)
I booked Genesis for a Company retreat and sales meeting.A friend recommended it and it was perfect. We booked 6 of the rooms all with private spacious bathrooms. All of the bedrooms were also spacious, some with their own private sitting room attached. There are also three or four living areas. This is a very large house with beautiful surroundings and even a great swimming pool in warm weather. You are only minutes from Murfreesboro but still feel like you are in the country. It also has a great meeting room in the basement which I would think could accommodate 25 or 30 people. The owner and host Brenda Lee was a pleasure to work with and made sure our week was perfect. Will definitely go back.
