The Quin abbey is the quintessence of an Irish ruin!
We were lucky enough to be directed into Quin for dinner, by our hostess in Tula. We arrived just prior to sunset. I was blown away at the structure, size and beauty of it. I was in awe that there were no locked gates onto the property. You were free to wonder around the buildings exterior, mind the cows, the quiet sentinels. Watch your step in the dark. The abbey is beatifully lit in the evening.
We rearranged our morning the next day just to visit it in the daylight and to be able to enter the physical structure.
We would not have found this on our own, well worth the diversion on our trip.
