We stayed here in July in a lovely room in the courtyard. We have previously stayed in the main house and were delighted with the lovely roomy "Ivy" room. We had a queen size bed, and our youngest had her own little room, and our eldest had a bed made up. The room was spotlessly clean and the bathroom very modern.
We enjoyed dinner, including the new buffet style hor D'oeuvre. The dessert trolley and cheese board are always favourites of mine.
One negative is that the menu was quite heavy and I feel a little wintry, despite the addition of a green salad.
One negative of our stay was the wedding party staying in the room next to ours, who smoked outside and drank noisily from 4 in the morning, thankfully my kids slept through it. I however do not,

What a beautiful house in a beautiful setting! Everything was first rate from the rooms, to the service, to the food, to the atmosphere. Incredible. Expensive, but worth every penny! We especially enjoyed the 7 course dinner and attentive service staff. Thank you Ballymaloe for a truly memorable experience! We've already recommended to our friends.

Room Tip: Higher floors have a better view.

On our trip to Ireland we spent one night at the Ballymaloe House on a special that included the accommodation, dinner, breakfast and a concert.

The property and the house were beautiful, as was our room but we did not enjoy the included dinner. My husband ordered pork medallions that were so fatty that he sent them back to the kitchen. I have never seen him do this before. They did return with less fatty pieces but this meal did not live up to our expectations of a restaurant attached to a cooking school.

The concert featuring the Scullions was amazing and one of the highlights of our trip. The breakfast the next morning was absolutely delicious; much superior to the dinner the previous evening.

The staff was delightful and apart from the dinner we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and bought the Ballymaloe cookbook with the expectation that someday I will attempt to make the bread they served us for breakfast.

Everything was exquisite. We especially loved that the food was organic and grown locally. Their food was truly exceptional, only to be outdone by their brilliant service. Staff is exceptionally warm and welcoming. We can't wait to return.

We stayed at Ballymaloe House last year for one night, which was one of the most relaxing experiences I have had in ages. Our room was large and bright with a small patio leading out on to the garden. There are no 'mod cons' here, no t.v in the bedroom, no tricks, just plain old fashioned good service and comfort, in fantastic surroundings and it has that little bit of 'class'. Our meal in the evening was excellent, great variety, as much as you like, with great service, attentive but not obtrusive. Breakfast next morning was a little disappointing, nothing out of the ordinary but all good quality food. If you need a 'get away from it all' break, Ballymaloe is the place to go, I liked it so much I am going back in a couple of weeks.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the lower ground floor, great rooms and very bright and airy.

I booked our family group in for a special B'day 2 night stay. Happy memories. Great standards of service and personal touches and attention to customer preference.

The house and gardens are splendid. They give you a real feeling for good Irish country living and hospitality. Service was good and friendly. We were a bit disappointed with the restaurant, not for the quality of the food which was good, but for the lack of inventiveness. Like the house the food is more traditional. More like good quality home cooking.
