“Quirky quiet riverside setting”
Reviewed 20 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We stayed here for a week and enjoyed the cosy house with open fire.
Great conservatory for family dinners and card games.
lots to do nearby for families.

“Glad to be back at Argideen Lodge for our second stay.”

Glad to be returning for our second visit to this peaceful and relaxing holiday let. Welcomed by Tim the owner on arrival, we immediately felt at home in Lodge 2 in which we had stayed last year. Everything was clean and tidy. The kitchen has everything you need and you don't have to search for that all important corkscrew and bottle opener. On cooler evenings,we lit the open fire which makes for a very cosy and comfortable atmosphere.

Whether you come for the fishing or just to relax, you'll discover the Argideen valley is a hidden gem in the West Cork countryside. We saw the kingfisher and dipper on most days, and if your fortunate when night time sea trouting you may glimpse an otter even though he may not have his state fishing licence with him!

I enjoyed good sea trout fishing and found all the local anglers from the Argideen Anglers Association both friendly and helpful.

With the coast only a short drive away, this is just a great holiday venue to escape the stresses and strains of modern day life. We hope to return again next September.

“Grand Place, Grand Time (again 8th time) didn't want to come home (again)”

Lovely place to stay, accommodation great, very roomy and homely. We always book Lodge No.1 as it has a magnificent conservatory, ideal for when husband off fishing and too inclement to sunbathe outside on the patio area, so we (me and my dog Alfie the cocker spaniel can sit inside and look out over the meadow towards the river, listening to the radio, or reading, doing a large jigsaw puzzle and chilling out) . Locals are very friendly and we are recognised in the village of Timoleague and the town of Clonakilty. Fabulous beach nearby at Inchidoney, walking the dog and watching the surfers. Stopping at the Inchidoney Spa & Hotel for a drink before returning to Timoleague and our beloved Lodge No.1.at the Argideen River Lodges. P.S. The owner is lovely and quite famous!!
