“Wonderful!!”
Reviewed 8 May 2012

I stayed here for two weeks and enjoyed every minute with this wonderful family and exploring this fabulous area. My room was immaculate with lots of fresh towels and toiletries on a daily basis, the breakfasts were plentiful and they were so tasty especially Mary Ita's home made bread but the crowning glory was the Boyle's themselves. They made me feel so welcome in their home and always had lots of advice on how best to explore the local area and were always quick to offer any help that i needed. I will definitely be back for another stay the next time that I am in Donegal. Thank you for making my stay so enjoyable!

We had a lovely stay at the Avalon B&B in Glenties. We felt at home immediately. Mary and Hugh even helped contact a local church whose records we needed for genealogy research, and also found a possible relative of ours who owned a local pub! The accommodations were spotlessly clean and so peaceful. The location was very convenient--only a minute's drive to Main Street but quiet and private. They made us a delicious hot breakfast, which we ate as we gazed at the picturesque hillsides nearby. We were able to use their Internet connection and our computer's wi-fi to communicate with home by Skype. We highly recommend the Avalon B&B and would stay there again without hesitation.

We had a great stay at the Avalon B&B, the Owners Mary Ita and Martin were so hospitable. The rooms were spotless and comfortable and the choice for breakfast was brilliant. The B&B is only a stones throw from the town and within driving distance of so many beautiful places like Slieve League and Silverstrand. We would definitely stay here again.

Mary & Hugh were very welcoming and made our stay a home from home with warm hospitality and home cooking, Mary specialises in catering for coeliacs with home made gluten free scones and bread, she also gives a variety of choices for breakfast. The house is spotlessly clean with comfortable rooms at a reasonable price. I could not fault anything during our stay and would definately recomend Avalon House to anyone.

Room Tip: Good location for exploring Donegal

What a gem, we only wished we could be back there in a minute...The layout with privacy, beautiful bedding and plenty of towels, parking, hot showers, the breakfasts will leave a memory forever more than ample, varied and delicious! (Mary made me the best kippers I have had in 50 plus years) the friendly, helpful proprietors....helping us do laundry with our wet golf gear, unbelievable above and beyond! The property, the location, Mary and Hugh are just the absolute top of the line friendly and professional.. I have been with the airline industry for 30 years and staying at B&B's probably 50 years.... and this in one of the absolute best. We hope to go back.

Mary & Hugh are wonderful hosts and their home is delightful. Hugh has Coeliacs disease and so for anyone needing a gluten free B&B this should be a definite on your list. Even in the rain, this location was charming with sheep grazing right outside our bedroom window. Accommodations are spotless. Breakfasts are ample and delicious.
