Stayed for two nights and were pleased to find old time charm in this hotel. Reception area is spacious it was easy to check in. Found our room with no problem though there was quite many turns and one lift. Room itself was not very big but everything worked well and heating seemed to be in good shape. We had the room towards the motorway but window was really tight and filtered the noise effectively. Bathroom contains a shower with glass door and we got warm water so much we needeed. Breakfast area is at the basement and is spacious and clean. A lot of choices to choose your breakfast from. There is a staff person to serve your selection. Only toast bread is self service.
There is a pub on the ground floor which serves many kind of foods. The other restaurant is more formal and we didn´t use it. There is one more space on the ground floor that is meant to business meetings and weddings.
Local village Leixlip is famous by being original Guinness factory site. Worth of popping and having a walk on the riverbank where the Guinnes factory has been.
Lucan is about 30 min from Dublin by car. There are two big shopping malls one about 2 miles towards Dublin called Liffey Valley Shopping Centre and the other by N3 called Blanchardstown Centre about 5 miles away. Both malls have a lot of potential if you are interested shopping. Dublin city center is bit difficult if you have a car to park.
We will come again to this hotel if are in the neighbourhood.

We stayed six nights beginning of September. The hotel is very clean, managed efficiently, very friendly staff, and serves a hearty breakfast. Denise, Mary, Claire and Barry provided wonderful assistance with location information, car rental and trip planning. Their advice was very valuable and appreciated. This staff made our Irish trip memorable. This quiet hotel has a good location with a direct bus route to central Dublin. Would love to stay here again. Visiting from Western Canada.

This is a great hotel to stay in. Very well run, very clean, fine food and accomodation - reasonably priced, but above all, fabulous and welcoming service and a real spirit of a team effort. The leadership given is clearly working, the manager playing a visible role in the delivery of the product and the first class service provided.

As a professional person, I like my comforts and the space to also do a bit of work when I am away. The Lucan Spa affords me that opportunity in a lovely environment. The room was cheerful, spacious and well cater for. And so, some writing and reading was undertaken and work done in a quiet setting. All work makes Jack a dull boy, they say! And so, after a shower and change I headed downstaris to the Ballyneety Bar for some relaxation. Great staff, great pint of Guinness and a lovely ecletic mix of locals and visitors, creating a really welcoming feeling. The bar staff very welcoming and chatty - in a nice and unobtrusive way.

I decided to have some food. The menu is straightforward and offers really good evening value. Had a main course and dessert and a couple of glasses of red wine! Really relaxed. Before heading up to the room again, I chatted to some of the locals and other guests. There is a lovely atmosphere here.

The one thing that really strikes me is the attitude of the staff team and the professional leadership given to them. Majella the manager made herself known to me, to welcome me and ask that all was ok. Not pushy but genuinely interested. She seems to have a way with the staff because I could see by their reactions to her that this is a team effort and that she and they see themselves as part of a team. The locals in their conversation confirmed this to me. Very positive. The manager here really has the gift and qualities (and obvious experience and confidence) to get the best out of people, for people. Top marks to Majella and the team!

A great night's sleep, good breakfast and I am off...but I will definitely be back again soon!

Good location (apart from having to be on cue to get your turnoff the M4) and adequate parking. Overall, very good value and an uplifting experience!

Highly recommended!

Stayed here for a weekend with my partner. Hotel and rooms were spotless and rooms were exceptionally quite considering the close proximity off the road. The bar was a little gem and the staff were so friendly. Would def stay here again.
