“Luxury at a reasonable price”
Reviewed 12 June 2013

Really classy hotel at very reasonable cost, location in saggart about 30 minutes to city centre.
Tram to city only few minutes walk.
Rooms I'd rate at 5 star, food good, nice leisure centre, free parking
Would recommend to anyone

Room Tip: Rooms away from reception on upper floors quieter

Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. Room was good size for a family and was clean. Shower was very powerful. No noise at night and with comfortable beds and pillows our sleep was very restful. Breakfast fry and breads were tasty. Nice atmosphere in lobby and bar. Leisure centre was great for the kids. Good value for money. Will be back.......

I have stayed in this hotel many times and always enjoy going back. The ease of access, and ease of parking (for which there is no charge) makes this an ideal location for anyone travelling to Dublin. The new luas stop is less than 10 mins of an easy walk putting the centre of Dublin at your fingertips. Our room on this occasion was as always very spacious and comfortable. Ate in the Bistro and while I enjoyed my meal, my partner chose the burger and felt it left a lot to be desired as it was dry, tasteless and appeared to be reheated. Breakfast was very pleasant with a good selection to choose from. Some fresh fruit would have been welcome. It is a delight to sit in the spacious lobby in one of the many large comfortable sofas and sip a glass of wine or enjoy a freshly baked scone and cup of tea. Staff as ever were pleasant and friendly.

Fine remodeled hotel with large rooms. Probably good for a golf weekend, conference, or wedding (I observed other guests in these roles). It's a 10 minute walk to the tram, and 40 minutes on the tram to get to the center of Dublin. It has an old spa with pool, steam room, and sauna, and also a fitness center with let's of treadmills, free weights, and dumbells. The fitness center is managed separately, so it s not 24 x 7.

We booked a family room for two nights. The first room was dirty and looked like it had not been hovered as there were bits all over the floor including a number of sweets. It also had a large stain on the carpet next to the double bed. This room was very small and it looked like the second single bed had just been thrown in the corner to make it into a family room. The TV didn't work and when looking behind to see if everything was connected it looked liked it hadn't been cleaned still it was installed. When I went to complain to the staff on reception the girl was extremely blasé and just asked if I liked to change rooms. She said she was moving us to a family room on another wing but ended up moving s down one floor on the same wing. Once again I'm not sure if this was a family room due to the single bed been wedged between the double bed and the wall. The only way to get into this bed was to crawl up it from the bottom. once again been against the wall in the corner. Four people in a room and only three sets of towels. When mentioned to reception was told this would be rectified. Still waiting!! Shower only had one speed which was very fast and resulted in the bathroom floor becoming flooded when everyone had a shower. Bathroom not very clean with black mould around the bottom of the shower door. On the whole the room and the majority of the hotel was extremely dated and not particularly clean. Not what I was expecting from a 4 Star Hotel!!!!

Booked Citywest for a week May 2013. Where other hotels with meeting rooms took weeks to respond, and forget about getting ANY communication after 4 pm on Fridays, ORLA at Citywest responded to our email ( which was on a weekend) within hours and was amazingly professional, helpful and courteous throughout all the planning. Not only did she arrange our training room, she arranged to have me picked up at the airport, arranged for my accommodation needs ( and that of our group) and met me in person when I checked in. Staff at Citywest could not e more helpful, I truly mean that. We book accommodations and a small meeting room in hotels and golf clubs around the world. We are a small group, but Citywest treated us as if we were very large and very important. The accommodation rooms were large and airy with a great bed ( mine was king) a desk to work at and a sitting area. Lovely. The meeting room was very comfortable and staff saw to all of our needs promptly. EXCELLENT treating all guests exceptionally well. the GUINNESS was quite fine as well ;) The only shortcoming was breakfast...which was awful :( Stopped going after the first day. And the Carvery was not great either. The Lemongrass next door however was exceptional and we ate both lunch and dinner there daily! I am giving this 5 stars in terms of my experience there. It is not a 5 star hotel, so families should not worry about booking here. It is quite affordable for the experience.

Room Tip: Go for the king bed, and I had a Jacuzzi tub in my room. Lovely.
