“Wonderful Afternoon Tea”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2014

Wonderful afternoon tea as a birthday treat this weekend. Glorious views and great welcome. Sat on the outside terrace. China tea cups and flowers. Really loved the chorizo vol-u-vonts and caviar topped salmon mousse.

My wife and I have been three times to Ireland, visiting Wales and two times up i Scotland. Always have we stayed at B&B's. The White Cottages is by far the best B&B we have stayed at. We stayed for a week in mid May-14 and was so well treated by Joe and his wife. The location is excellent with the waterfront just a couple of meters away. The rooms (we saw all) is so nice and many of them has a perfect sea view. The breakfast was so well cooked and presented so a better start of a day is rare to have. If You plan a trip to the Dublin area, dont hesitate to book a room. A walk to the train station takes 15 minutes and you are in dublin half an hour later. We will return in late May-15 and we already looking forward to it. / Nency and Christer (Sweden)

having just returned from a stay in the white cottages , skerries which was truly beautiful. Joe and Jackie are the perfect hosts, really friendly and a very warm welcome. . Listening to the lapping of the sea , late into the night and early in the morning was amazing.
Water was provided in bedroom. Breakfast freshly cooked was amazing. We both had Scrambled eggs to simply die for , crisp bacon, sausage some fried spuds , toast brown bread and a wonderful tea brack. There was fresh fruit on each table , orange juice. cereals ,Tea was lovely and strong as requested. . The breakfast room over looks the sea and is just so beautiful.Joe is a really lovely host
Yes we will be returning

We were met on our arrival by beautiful friendly Jurega her lovely son Sean Og. No ordinary b&b stayed in the-fabulous harbour master room right on the sea woke up hearing waves pure bliss !!
The owners joe & Jacqui are lovely & gave us great advice on where to eat.Jacqui cooked a fantastic breakfast & a lovely extra of homemade tea brack just delicious.skerries is a lovely village just buzzing & check out olives deli in town just beautiful. Couldn't fault anything only that we only had one night :-( will def make a return visit. My dream is to live by the sea & this just brought it that little bit closer :-) rested my spirit & fed my soul.

our last night in ireland - couldn't think of a better place to spend it! Beautiful b&b in a beautiful setting. Stayed in the crowsnest and felt like we were not just next to the sea but on it! Joe was super friendly and indulged my 20 questions and fascination with his ticket stub collection, u2 in the 80's for 2.50 pounds, come on. He gave us a couple of suggestions for dinner and we walked the beach around to the harbor. It was a gorgeous late afternoon and dinner on the patio overlooking the water was ideal. We looked and looked for seals but no luck in that department. Breakfast was perfect, Jackie's tea bread and the lovely service complimented the entire experience. Would stay here again in a heartbeat! Added bonus, 15 minute drive to Dublin airport.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and super clean.
Our room, "The Captains", had sliding doors onto a patio - beyond that was the sea (definitely bringing sea kayaks next time).
Very friendly owners with lots of useful local information.
The breakfast was very good, but the best part of the breakfast in my opinion was the view of the sea and the rock pools.

Room Tip: Our room, (I think it was called "The Captains") was on the ground floor and had access to...

We have stayed in Skerries several times visiting friends and this is the first time we have ever stayed with Jo and Jackie at The White Cottages before. We will definitely be staying again. The breakfast was fantastic and the view from the property is beautiful. Seals swimming just off the rocks at breakfast time every morning and although we did not sample the afternoon tea there, it looked fantastic. The brilliant weather on the weekend we stayed, which was also the Skerries music weekend, just added to one of the best weekends away in years. We went as a group of three guys, but I definitely will be taking my wife and little girl back to see Jo and Jackie at The White Cottages.

Room Tip: Ask for the Crows Nest. Great view from the Velux Windows.
