“night with Helen.”

Great food, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Wasn't packed. A competitive early bird price. We liked the ante chamber where one can choose from the menu while sipping a glass of wine. Easy to chat here and have privacy. I recommend it highly.

“70th birthday party”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 January 2014

After a day on the water 30 of us went to the Red Bank for dinner to help me get over the experience of turning 70. We had a great meal, quickly and expertly served. As an occasional patron this was one of the best meals I've ever had here (or anywhere else) and Terry's participation after he had finished cooking made the party go with a special swing. no slipping of standards here even after 30 years!

“A bit special”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2014

We stayed at the Red Bank recently . This was a return visit so we were aware of the quality of the food. However on this occasion the food was even better again . The proprietor Terry Mc Coy made everybody feel most welcome and would come out from the kitchen to ensure we were happy after each course. The main course of Skate off the bone was simply delicious. One of the great benefits with this restaurant is that they have rooms overhead which allows you to have the bottle of wine without having to bother about driving. Incidentally the breakfast was also cooked to order and was very good. I would recommend the dinner bed and breakfast deals which are great value . The only thing downside I saw was that perhaps a little redecoration would help.

“Food Matters”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 October 2013

The food presented by Mr Mc Coy was excellent. My starter of Melon strawberry in a berry sauce was fantastic followed by baked hake with garden vegetables in a gorgeous sauce followed by Tiramazu dessert (pardon spelling) and tea.

Mr. Coy stated that seafood was the speciality of the restaurant but the menu was much more expansive. My companion had chicken and loved it too.

The food just rested on your tongue appreciating it and you chewed, absolutely wonderful. There was classical piped music in the background. The atmosphere was fantastic for a quiet chat.

The decor was in my opinion dated but it did not detract from a wonderful experience.

Our breakfast was of a high standard too and I have no hesitation in recommending the Red Bank to anybody for a sumptuous meal or stay in the b&b. My complements to Mr. Mc Coy for being a charming host.
