Prepare a decent lunch and bring water before you hire your bike first thing in the morning, then make your way to the main road that takes you past the seal colony. Once you get to the main beach take a left and start up the hill a little before turning right at the sign that says "2km" to the worm hole. Be aware that the sign is in Irish and not in english. Take that road and you will sea a group of houses on the cliff. As the road turns left at the fork take the path to the right that continues north behind the houses. The path will dead end at a gate where you can walk through a passage and go down to the cliffs. Walk north and stay high on the cliffs- do not walk down to the lower rocks. There will be a small rope to step over at one point and then you will find the rectangular worm hole. My suggestion is to carry on walking up to the fort on the hill. You can make it to the main path and hop over the rock wall, thereby avoiding the 3 euro entrance fee. The round trip takes less than 1 hour walking, but obviously that doesn't include time spent picnicking or just enjoying the sights. After you return, take your bikes and see the rest of the island.
