Tigh Congaile is the perfect base on inis mean and Vilma and Ann Marie, her daughter, are excellent hosts. They make you feel so at ease in their home. I cannot overstate how good the food is, it is fine dining at it's best, Vilma's attention to detail is amazing. The greens in the goats cheese salad are all individually hand picked from the garden. I tried everything on the menu, and it was superb. The chowder, lobster,(see picture, tasted as good as it looks, came with garlic butter on the side but I didnt need it, meat was so good on its own) catch of the day was pollock. The desserts are addictive, I had the pear tart on 2 nights and the brownie on my final night. Try the tapas from 12-4 also and the bordeaux is well recommended a beautifully well rounded creamy red. It was my first time on all 3 islands and inis mean stands out for the reasons already set out in the other reviews, I am planning to go back next month, to experience the peace of the island and of course vilma's cooking.
