We have just returned from a two night stay at Tig Congaile where we also experienced the kind hospitality of Vilma - we would not stay anywhere else on Inis Meáin in the future. Inis Meáin is Inis Meáin - just so special in so many ways. Others have said everything nice needed in relation to Tig Congaile - I could just add that the bed linen was very good.

Room Tip: I think a room probably overlooking the old pier - therefore the front of the house is best; I think...

We stayed at Tig Conghaile for two nights. A beautiful, friendly place to stay. Extremely tasty food from breakfast through to dinner. Vilma is a wonderful host! We will certainly be returning. Great location, only a short walk to Beach. Highly recommend this accommodation and Vilma's sharp sense of humour.

Just back from 4 fabulous nights on Inis Mean , Aran Islands , Ireland. I stayed at the most relaxing perfect bed and breakfast ever with the charming , exuberant , warm and welcoming Vilma! Her husband Padraic brought home fresh lobster , crab , mackerel ,and other delicious fish early every morning . These were lovingly prepared by a Vilma and served with flair and a twist accompanied by amazing sea vegetables ..( yes , I didn't know much about them either !), garden fresh cabbages, beetroot, scallios, carrot, salad leaves from the garden , potatoes , wonderful soups and chowders were on menu with unusual starters including fresh salmon smoked by Vilma ...all just delicious. the desserts were beyond wonderful , just imagine the tantalising flavours of beetroot and chocolate pudding , irresistible ! My room had a magnificent view over the sea towards Inis Siar and the delightful Ciffs of Moher glowed pink as the evening sun set over Galway Bay. I met other wonderful guests all equally happy and glowing with happiness , the atmosphere at Tigh Chonaigaile encourages guests to chat and share their days' experiences and firm friendships emerged over 2 or 3 days .. The island itself is a haven of peace, tranquility, bird life , flowers, beaches, rocks , walls , ancient monuments, and beautiful people genuinely interested in sharing with visitors. I will be returning as soon and as frequently as possible .

Room Tip: Most rooms have sea views so you could ask but the dining room is amazing and it's not so import...

An excellent stay with Vilma, as others have said her cooking is great, you feel like you are in an exclusive club that few know about. The room was plain but nice and comfy. Make sure you know how to find her place because there are no signs on the island. Maybe a mile walk from the dock, or you can call a taxi. We loved this island so much, I think we will remember it longer than any other place we saw in Ireland. Stone walls cover everything, small groups of sheep or cows grazing, very few people, amazing views everywhere including from Tig Congaile. We hiked around and found the wildflowers amazing. I can't recommend this island and Vilmas B&B highly enough.

Tig Congaile and Inishmaan exceeded all expectations! The island is remote, quiet, walkable, and spectacularly beautiful. Vilma and her husband were so warm, friendly, and helpful that I felt I was staying with family. The rooms are clean, views amazing, dinner and breakfast scrumptious! I was traveling solo and there were seven other guests from Ireland, France, and a couple living in Bangkok. We all had dinner (crab claws!) together and Vilma kept the goodies coming until after midnight. Fantastic!

A group of 5 stayed with Vilma for a weekend in May 2014 and it was a most pleasant stay indeed. We had dinner on Friday night and really enjoyed the leg of lamb. We also had tapas for lunch on Saturday and the combinations of tastes were exactly what we needed following a 10 miles walk of the island.
The rooms are spotless and Vilma is kind and welcoming.
I'd highly recommend Tigh Congaile.

I stayed here with my friend and it was very comfortable, delicious, and quiet. Vilma is wonderful! You won't want to leave her cooking, and she can tell you things to do on the island. The rooms are clean and it was very quiet. If you need anything, Vilma is eager to help. The view from every window is beautiful. If we come back, we will definitely stay here again!
