I stayed here for a single night, on a flying visit to Inis Oirr. The hotel is about 2 minutes' gentle walk from the pier. There was no record of the booking, even though I had done it over the phone that morning! It was sorted out fairly promptly.

The decoration is very dated - it feels like a late-70s timewarp. The room I had was clean, but the bed wasn't that comfortable. I gather that the B&Bs are rather better in terms of decoration, service etc. There are 2 computers in the restaurant area for internet access (€2 per hour). Mobile signal was non-existent (it's hit and miss on the island generally).

As others have pointed out, the hotel is very noisy. It's not just the pub: I could hear everything from the room above (including at least 2 dropped coins rolling on the floor), and doors banging.

If you absolutely have to get a room at short notice, and for just overnight, it's ok - but cannot be recommended.

This hotel is one of the nicest places you can stay,it is in a perfect location on the island of Inisheer. We had a stunning beach on our doorstep and the best craic you can imagine by night. Try the local mackerel, crab or prawn if it's available! There was fresh chowder available for lunch accompanied by a fantastic ceili band.Really nice breakfast with a view of the O'Brien Castle. Dinner was beautiful each night with the freshest ingredients and polite staff. Everyone was warm and welcoming and if your going to the Aran Islands this is surely the experience you are looking for!!

What can I say! From beginning to end of our stay was horrible. As soon as we got off the boat at the pier, there was "taxi men" like vultures trying to give us a lift to the hotel. They wouldnt take no for an answer. We felt we had to accept and were shocked when we landed at the hotel after a 60 sec drive and a 10euro charge!! the cheek. The hotel was filthy, freezing and seriously outdated. The room was cold, beds tiny and a funky smell off the bed clothes (my sister slept on my hair on the pillow cause she thought she would get sick with the smell). We had to get drunk to even get to sleep. There was a lovely pub though called neds or something. The staff were lovely and it was clean and welcoming. As for the young males drinking in the pub, absolute animals as id call them. They were insulting, acted like they never saw women before and were kinda pervy. Word of warning, If you arent a fluent Irish speaker (I was but didnt let on) they love to talk about you and insult you in Irish to your face!!! No manners at all but im sure there are decent young men on the island, we just didnt meet them. Id recommend a lovely b+b just up the road from the hotel, think it was called thige rory or something. We ate there the whole time and its very clean and the staff are lovely people. If I go back ill defo stay there. The island is lovely to look at but we didnt savour it as we had such a bad experience with accomodation

stayed for two nites biggest mistake should of been a half nite, room with leaky hot and cold temp think bath had leaked as well. The service was to the least rude foreign and off putting no genuine failte, food mostly deep fried and covered in some type of sauce, breakfast not bad but very hard to get that wrong only one cup coffee offereded more meanness considering the price we payed, if this is to be hit by the recession it should be shut down no questions asked perfect for a stag thats all i would put in there.

I enjoyed my stay at hotel. Stayed with my hen party on 8 Aug. I found the hotel very clean, food was lovely and staff were very friendly. My only critism is when we arrived we were is group of 22 people and we ordered some plates of sandwiches and were charged 15 euro a plate which we felt were extremely overpriced. Aside from that our stay was very good.

The fresh mackerel at the pub is highly recommended.
You can get it with a heaping plate of vegetables.
The live music was also a lot of fun.

OK, the inn is another story. The rooms don't seem to
be quiet. They're either near the noisy pub, or near a
grocery store with a loud cooling generator.
The bathroom fixtures are antiquated, and there was
little pressure for the hot water.

We ate at the pub every night of our stay, but left the inn
after one sleepless night.

I will add that the staff is very friendly.
